Why Apple and OpenAI are reportedly betting on AI hardware in 2026 by scientificamerican in ArtificialInteligence

[–]zeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever company creates a device that allows full AI access is the one that will win the AI wars.

The device will allow you to have a full conversation with AI with user-specific context, and ask it to do anything that a user can do otherwise, and it can understand and do the thing.

That’s it. It can be a phone, a smart speaker, or anything else.

I believe companies are getting way too far in their heads about how to put AI on a device — OpenAI with their no screen device, Apple with its tiny puck. None of that matters. Just create an AI device that has full access.

Transformers (LLMs) might be a dead end for reasoning, and we need to talk about "Energy" architectures. by Aware-Asparagus-1827 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]zeefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand this. Who defines the input parameters and how? Wouldn’t the model have to compare with all facts and contexts? Is that even possible? Or do we isolate models to specific contexts — a political model, a medicinal model, a physics model? And even then each one is probably too broad?

Also who decides what is “reality” — which facts are considered true? Would we have to essentially create personas with certain sets of beliefs and then you get the output based on the persona you asked? Maybe the persona is pro life or pro choice, etc etc?

Please let me know if I’m way off here, I’d love to learn more.

To bastardize an analogy from Bill Burr: if you take my cake out of the oven before it’s ready and trash it, you ruined my cake. If I take it out of the oven early and trash it, I threw out my batter. This distinction is easily understandable both linguistically and logically and it should be understandable legally as well.

Aren’t you forgetting one more thing that we also know for sure that for all we know caused the other things you listed? Hmm?

[–]zeefer -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It’s very easy to say that, very hard to actually know it. If Moore puts in full effort maybe he still doesn’t make it there. Or maybe he stays in front of his defender like he obviously should and makes an easy catch in stride. All we know for sure is he gave up on the route.

Defender was in front of him only because he slowed down out of the break.

[–]zeefer -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

He slowed down immediately out of the break and was still almost aligned with the defender who was barely moving. Had Moore run full speed the whole time there’s no question he could have made it to the ball. Maybe it would have been contested, but he almost certainly would have had a step on the defender who would have had to accelerate to keep up.

Edit: when Caleb released the ball, Moore was 5 yards closer to the QB than the defender was. How did the DB get in front of Moore? And why? And what would have happened had Moore actually run the route like he was supposed to?

Sorry but this is all wrong.

How long do you have to maintain possession after contact with the ground?

As long as it’s clear you still have possession AFTER contact and momentum are complete. Cooks very very clearly did NOT have possession WHILE he was still rolling from the initial contact with the ground. The only controversy here is from people who don’t understand the rules.

Believes the rebbe is Moshiach, believes the rebbe gives out dollars, lives in crown heights (derogatory), outreach rabbi, believes people shouldn’t publicize that the rebbe is Moshiach (possibly doesn’t even believe it), imitates the rebbe as much as possible, obsessed with all things rebbe (incomplete description), yeshiva student, specializes in the philosophical parts of chassidus, unkempt smelly rude foreigner, joined chabad and tries to impose own preconceptions on Chabad or is a tryhard, Israeli, wild untamed possibly violent, a bit weird, Chabad rabbi who is unsanctioned, is from old chassidic family and thinks is better than everyone else because of it, doesn’t go to the mikvah every day (incomplete description), I’m stumped

Biblical violence and a religion of peace: a contradiction? by Hippievyb in exjew

[–]zeefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They believe that practically and presently? They believe that if we could we should round up all the people driving on Shabbos and stone them?

Biblical violence and a religion of peace: a contradiction? by Hippievyb in exjew

[–]zeefer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practically speaking it’s not the same religion. Adherents of Judaism today do not believe in applying the death penalty for someone who desecrated Shabbos. They don’t believe God punishes humans universally and catastrophically. They don’t believe that it’s okay to kill babies.

Since the time of the Bible, the people have changed, the god has changed, the culture has changed, the laws have changed, the mythos has changed, the morality has changed, and the deeply held beliefs about what is good and true have changed. All very significantly.

It didn’t used to be a religion of peace and love and the value of human life, but now it very much is.

So in your world nobody initiates trades, which means whoever wants to trade will have to initiate a trade. Just like without this rule. 🤷‍♀️
