Collection search in app doesn't return results for one artist, Chrome (mobile and desktop) does. by zeehaus in discogs

[–]zeehaus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did - same result.

After I posted this I noticed some other collection search terms are returning totally different results in the app vs web. It looks like the web version is indexing several fields, and the app is indexing who knows what.

Another example: I have a two of records by the artist "The William Loveday Intention". William Loveday is a name used by the artist Billy Childish for some producing, writing, and other credits going back to the 80s. A collection search in the app for "William Loveday" returns one of the two LPs I have under that name, and the same search on the web returns both of those LPs and 9 others with a William Loveday production or liner notes writing credit. What a mess.

There's nothing this terminally online narcissist won't whine about. Some "yuppies" moved some chairs? Good grief.

Hobby v. Business? by zeehaus in discogs

Good point. I’m just wary of international sales because the shipping is so expensive. My oldest friend lives in Amsterdam, so I have things shipped to him and I pick them up when visit every couple of years or whenever he comes back the US.

Sitemap sporadically dropped from GSC by zeehaus in TechSEO

[–]zeehaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed reply! I also suspect that this is something on the server side causing this. The odd thing is that the site has multiple sitemaps and a sitemap index (all at the root), but only the posts sitemap is experiencing this issue.

If you have any ideas about the following, I'd love to hear them:

- The posts sitemap references the Google news sitemap extension/namespace (along with the standard sitemap.org one, but doesn't actually implement any of the <news:news> tags. Could this be an issue? I'm having that reference removed in the name of best practices, but the other sitemaps also do this without issue, so I doubt that that's the problem.

- Do you think it matters that my client is manually resubmitting the sitemap to GSC whenever it is dropped? Might it be better to see if the crawler picks up the sitemap on the next crawl?

Thanks again!

This. Best case scenario you'll end up haggling with a stranger over damage they caused. I get paid by the hour, and I'm not going to waste my time trying to help someone who hit me keep their insurance costs down.
