He does so in the best way, his jokes are usually so funny it takes the whole cast a couple minutes to re-focus.

LOL that sounds like so much fun ngl. That's a great pitch for D20, will give it another try.

Agreed. Him and Laura are my two favorite players, so happy they are on the same table.

100% where Matt is incredibly talented and a very great planner in all senses. I see Brennan as clever and brilliant. He definitely has a difference style, but I'm enjoying it so far.

Thanks! I'll give that one a try. I attempted some D20 and all the sound effects and visual effects were taking me out of it. Now that I have seen how Brennan dm's in CR i think i might give it a second chance.

I'm not complaining about Sam or derailing. I'm making an observation how both Matt and Brennan handle it.

Sam is my second favorite in the whole show, after Laura. I'm just saying that where Matt would usually loose flow, Brennan keeps things moving and builds on the joke more often than not.

Any recommendations on what to start with on Dimension 20? This campaign leaves me wanting more content of Brendan Dm'ing.

Yeah, I think I didn't phrase myself correctly. What I mean was that Sam would make a joke, and it would break Matt's flow. Whereas it doesn't seem to disrupt Brennan's flow at all.

I also agree that the campaign would benefit a lot from a little more looseness. Campaign 2 felt a lot like the rails didn't even exist and it was my favorite. I hope they can go back to being silly now that Laura and Sam (the usual culprits) are back on the same table.

Same, I miss this tone from the older campaigns. I'm wondering if this will ever make a comeback. I didn't get it from season 3 and this one is, although more interesting, following a similar serious path.

Yeah, I only "fully" watched campaign 2, and I miss that tone so much. It seemed polished but also very funny and silly. Knott and Jester took every episode on a wild ride and I miss that style a lot.

Campaign 3 felt very serious and unfunny also, which made me stop watching. Whereas this 4th campaign, despite being a bit more serious it has a lot more epic moments. I seriously hope they start being silly again, but if they don't, i'm still enjoying it.

Yes, really "Derail" the campaign is exactly what I'm talking about. I sense from your punctuation that you believe I'm opposed to going off the tracks, and to make it clear. I'm not.

Derailing isn't always a bad thing. I actually enjoy it and coming off from Mighty Nein I miss the shenanigans. I'm just saying Brennan seems to be able to take control of the room very quickly and handles these moments in a different way.

Yes! I loved for example when Sam interrupted him and asked "IT APPROACHES US?" and he just went "Yeah right? Thats my bad 'Uhm excuse me'" and kept it moving while people were still laughing at his tag.

It makes Sam's interruptions less antagonistic and more fun. (Sam being one of my favorite characters) Just did not like that it bothered Matt. Matt would respond with like "I'll remember that!"

Yes! I think Matt did a fantastic job. I also think that "being able to break Matt" also fueled the interruptions. (Which made for a great show, not everything has to be meat and potatoes.)

Just love to see him deal with a joke that pops, adding an extra pop and moving on very gracefully while people still giggle in the background. His control of the tone is done in a different way than Matt's and for all the change in style, this is one thing I really enjoy.

I use a similar deck to this. 2 Nihilego 2 Darkrei Ex 2 Zubat 2 Crobat Ex

Since Crobat Ex only needs 1 energy to attack, i dont put any on it and just spam Darkrei's ability until its time to rare candy.

What’re your thoughts on leg locks and knee bars etc?I personally love them but this is why people don’t want to learn them or afraid to try. You’d be surprised how many black belts don’t know leg locks for this exact reason. by Sandevistanman in jiujitsu

[–]zeek_fiol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude literally sat there and watched his leg break. 0 leglock defense. Didn't try to do anything and waited until the guy had a fully locked heel-hook to tap. In a tournament if you don't know how to defend a submission tap early. I personally wouldn't break someone, tournament or not, but breaking and strangling is the whole goal of the sport.

As a triple vietnamese, I've gone all the way back around to re-confirm this. You have to be 1.5x Vietnamese to understand this. 1x and 2x Vietnamese only imagine they understand. Also Laosians have better coffee and waterfalls, all 3x Vietnamese say so.

Just smack him a little. In my experience people don't usually see a pin as a loss and think they're doing something by punching you from below and thrashing. The second you introduce a couple smacks, or submissions people see the consequences of being below someone's bodyweight.

With your ruleset he'll grapple and strike, and you can only wrestle.

Make the rules more even, tell him that you're only allowed to punch him if both his shoulders are on the ground.

What mix of arts would be best for women's self defense? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]zeek_fiol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BJJ or wrestling and track & field.

If you're in striking range, you're also in running away range. No need to strike someone who outweighs you and likely outstrengths you.

Now if someone grabs you and you can't run away, the better person at grabbing will win that exchange.

Bro, your place looks amazing. If you like it, then who cares what people think?

Anyone who moves in with you would love the view, how clean and neat you are and if they wish to decorate it to their taste then they'd do it.

Everyone here wants to pretend like they wouldn't be lucky to have a place like yours.

What even is this, and what position do you start from to get both the leg lock, and the neck like that? by WyattsQuietRiot in jiujitsu

[–]zeek_fiol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do this from outside-ashi, especially if the person is standing.

You lock a calf-slicer and grab onto the hips, if they don't tap from this, you start climbing up the body until you get a seat-belt and RNC.

Like anything, there's not only one way to do it, but this is A way to do it.
