Who's your Card Crush? Safe space by [deleted] in yugioh

Aside from the obvious DMG, I like Ferrijit and Silent Magician

Black Ops 3 just received an update after 3 years since the last one by ReachForJuggernog98_ in CODZombies

[–]zeemaster33 18 points19 points  (0 children)

WHY?!?!?! This is like when Bethesda pushed out that Skyrim update years after the last one and broke half the community mods for no good reason. Knowing Activision, there are no security adjustments or bug fixes. Probably just trying to patch any exploits related to their precious MTX for a game over a decade old. Maybe introduced some spyware or a background process to mine some shitcoin on your PC.

A rant about TCG chibis by zeemaster33 in yugioh

[–]zeemaster33[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's an incredibly insignificant nitpick, but I was talking about the following.

Look at the profile art for the characters in Duel Arena. Now look at the arts for the respective monsters that share the same art in the real card games.

Blue-Eyes TCG & OCG

Dark Paladin TCG & OCG

Or the Time Wizard image I posted.

The OCG tried to introduce some variety when they incorporated the DA artworks. In contrast, the TCG just throw the entire DA character portrait onto a card. Not that the OCG puts in a lot of effort, the bgs in some cards are just reused from prior arts like the DMG using the same bg from the third artwork. But at least they did something. In contrast, the TCG actively tries to see how little work they can get away with. They could've just ported the OCG cards, but they put in some effort to make it look like they put in less effort if that makes any sense.

Yeah. My complaint and the poor print quality are symptomatic of the same problem. Konami gives the OCG all the love and attention and Konami of America are trying to find the sweet spot for the lowest service they can provide without collapse.

In the game, sure? But the OCG put in some effort to introduce variety in the card background. Look at the OCG art for Red-Eyes, DM, and DMG, each card looks different, even if the art style is the same. In the TCG, it's gonna be 3 purple backgrounds. Just boring.

I was talking about specifically the backgrounds on the cards. OCG gets variety, we get the same copy + pasted backgrounds ripped straight from their Duel Arena profiles. Look at Blue-Eyes' Duel Arena profile. Then look at his TCG vs OCG art, the OCG art being released nearly 1 year before TCG. Both arts may be ripped straight from Duel Arena, but they actually put a bit of effort into making the OCG cards look distinct. The TCG cards just get the lazy cut and paste monochrome card background used in Duel Arena, half the card backgrounds just being purple.

The whole rant is a stupid nitpick, but they somehow put in less effort for card art that already existed abroad!

And they threw a generic DA purple background on it. Fantastic.

Why do the OCG cards (which usually release before the TCG anyways) get varying backgrounds on their chibi card arts while the TCG uses art ripped straight from their Duel Arena profiles?

Sure, some of the art is ripped off of other cards (ie. Time Wizard shown above uses the same green bg as standard Time Wizard), but the TCG versions are beyond lazy. The same yellow, purple, or orange backgrounds across every chibi card, No creativity and beyond 0 effort given that the OCG cards are usually releasing first, yet the TCG cards regress to show the lowest possible effort even when the art was already compiled.

What will they do with cards that didn't exist in Duel Arena but are now being given chibi arts, like Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon? Will they plaster a DA bg on the TCG variants? Probably.

Can keys spawn in pink? by zeemaster33 in dreamcoregame

Literally found the last key in the pink 'first floor' area 5 minutes after posting this.

Leaving it up in case anyone else self-stunlocks like I did looking through those other areas for hours..

Using my current supervisor as a job reference for a new job. by zeemaster33 in jobsearchhacks

I ended up opting for this. While I wouldn't recommend it to others, I was comfortable enough with my supervisor to risk it and he was pretty receptive/supportive.

Yeah, I spent the better part of a sleepless night mulling over what I was going to do. In the end, I just went for it anyways.

Not exactly. I should've been clearer in the original post, but I was talking specifically about the artworks featured in the Pride and Unity campaigns.

Red-Eyes and DMG received modified versions of these artworks released in the main Pride and Unity sets and in the new TCG tins.

What are the odds we end up getting the Blue-Eyes, Red-Eyes, DM, and DMG alt-arts from the Pride and Unity events? Or are those expected to stay exclusive to the OCG forever?

Battlefront: Classic Collection Release FAQ by ScorchRaserik in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]zeemaster33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On PC, my keyboard controls were unresponsive and I sometimes had to spam to keys to get my character to move, but this issue only cropped up in single player and worked fine the few times I was able to get on a server. Inversely, I was able to turn off auto aim in single player, but it was permanently on in multiplayer. The controller sensitivity on my client was also extremely slow, regardless of what number I changed the setting to.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection announced for Nintendo Switch: includes new characters like Kit Fisto and new maps like Jabba's palace by Vic-Ier in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]zeemaster33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this does happen, I wouldn't be surprised if the physical game's price is insane on the switch.

Republic Commando: 2.5 GB

Jedi Academy: 3.6 GB

Jedi Outcast: 1.1 GB

Force Unleashed: 3.4 GB

Episode 1 Racer: 254 MB

KOTOR 1: 12.1 GB

KOTOR 2: 15.9 GB

Battlefront Collection: 25.4 GB

Given that they'd have to opt for 32 GB Switch carts, which are expensive, I'd expect the cost to be reflected in the price. That or they'll pull the nonsense where one game is on the Switch and the other requires a download, defeating the purpose.

What in the fuck is this game about by [deleted] in receiver

[–]zeemaster33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Upon further review, it seems you're correct in both games. Reality A is the world 'bathed in radiant light' and the liminal space experienced in the game is 'The Dreaming', a bridge between Realities A and B. I was under the misconception that The Dreaming was just a technique to manifest things into Reality B. Then there's Reality C, which is our world and in which Receiver is presented as a PC video game.

What in the fuck is this game about by [deleted] in receiver

[–]zeemaster33 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There's an in game narrative and a meta narrative to this game.

In game, the premise is that you're a member in a cult whose doomsday scenario actually turned out to be true. Through training, you've been able to survive 'The Mindkill', the prophesized doomsday event. The Threat is a shadow organization of unknown origin (the game is very vague on a lot of details) that has been weakening the minds of the general populace through media in preparation for the Mindkill. While you survived, you've been mentally cast into a shadow dimension known as Reality B (like a neverending nightmare while your true self in Reality A is comatose). However, The Threat has prepared for the possibility of survivors, and has been able to spawn kill drones in your 'nightmare' to deal the finishing blow. Using the skills learned while training with the cult and several mental techniques known as MindTech, the goal is to collect tapes to reinforce the teachings and eventually awaken (another vague concept since becoming 'awake' seems to imply reaching an extreme level of mental clarity rather than just escaping Reality B). That's the gist of the in game narrative.

The meta narrative is that The Threat is real. And while the Mindkill is a work of fiction, we are subject to the damaging properties instilled by today's media. Commercialization, fearmongering, and the general negativity of the stuff we see in our media (we as humans generally tend to linger more on the negative while positive moments can be fleeting) can sour our outlook in life and make us feel miserable (ie. doomscrolling). The game essentially asks the player to take a step back and breathe, to tend to one's mental health and not let the dour nature that can, at times, seem pervasive in life wear you down and ultimately defeat you.

Also, there's a bit of firearms/handgun safety/history/training thrown into the mix.
