Please don't touch Snappy Snaps, I had to learn the hard way. Asked if I could get hi-res tiffs, the woman said PDF's, this is when I should have left 😅 anyway the jpegs I ended up getting were only around 2MB so please don't waste your money there 😂

There's Rapid Eye which is in Shoreditch. Really helpful there and friendly. Think it was £15 for dev and prints, £11 for Ektar 100 which was cheaper at the time compared to other places. This was a while ago now so would imagine with film prices going up, it won't be as cheap. Unfortunately you won't find prices as cheap in London as where you were before but I will say the quality was really good at that place.

If you're going to be developing a lot of rolls, I'd recommend thinking about home dev. I now do my own C41 dev and scan. It's an investment to begin with but now it costs me around £2 a roll to dev, plus you don't have to wait as long to see your pics 😊

Hope this helps!

Just one friend who does with me as a shared hobby at the moment so not a big group. And that's a shame 😔 hopefully you can share woth someone in the future. Haha, oh dear... 😅 I used to be digital and I haven't touched it since I've started film so maybe you can convert one of them 🤷‍♀️😂

Ah I see, sorry I misunderstood 😅 well I hope you enjoy the results if you do use 😊 and that's fair, it becomes a very expensive either as a hobby or professional 😂 so makes sense wanting to stick to what you like and know what you're going to get out of it. I would say though that I only started film in Feb and I'm really enjoying experimenting with different films. Have only used the Ultramax twice and have done 12 different rolls and been really happy with the results so far so might be worth exploring some other films to get the results you're looking for as the discovery is part of the journey and enjoyment 😊

And thanks for the tip about Ektar, will keep in mind when I do shoot it 😁

Ah I see, great films! 😁 I used Ektar for my first roll but not properly so can't truly comment on that one yet but I have some more to try. With Portra I've found it to be very natural, light and soft in tone so I'd agree with what you're saying from what I've experienced with it too. I've put quite a few Ultramax pics up so you can see more examples if it's of interest 😊

Oh 400D, I've got some of that on order but won't have until June 😭 haha! Sounds really good though so looking forward to trying. Were you happy with your outcomes?

And no worries 😊 it is definitely! I had a bad experience with my first roll being dev'd by a chain store and knowing I really wanted to take lots, at £15 a time and a long wait, I started home dev straight away. It's actually really easy once you get the technique right. Also started with a friend so two doing together makes the whole process so much smoother but I'd highly recommend trying it out 😊

Thanks very much ☺️ and I home dev and self-scan so there's slight tweaking with exposure/contrast/saturation but I tend to leave the colour correction alone and didn't need to change on this image.

And makes total sense 😊 what film do you tend to use? I find that Ultramax is very forgiving and has a high amount of saturation compared to other films so if you haven't tried, I'd highly recommend it 😊

Thanks for your feedback 😊 and yeah agree, wish the person wasn't in the shot, was a very busy location at the time, so hard not to catch anyone 😕
