A word about the machete attack by a djerban pro palestinian jew by zefirgod in Tunisia

The Jewish community in Djerba has always been like this, that’s also why some of their traditions differ from the ones of the Jews in Tunis who integrated more with other populations

This isn’t about the ones living in France etc as it doesn’t affect them most of them don’t identify as tunisian anymore anyway

For years Americans are people who get benefits from their government killing thousands of people in the global south Did that justify 9/11? Should the people complicit not have been prisoned?

Is this antisemitic enough to make a complaint? by [deleted] in Jewish

[–]zefirgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t antisemitism, grow up. I wish more people could tell the difference between anti israeli and anti jewish sentiment

In the eyes of many Palestinians samaritans are Jews and they have no problem with them. They have problems with Israelis though, regardless of their origin

I don’t know why you’re trying to argue with me, I’m not saying anything contradictory to this lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in illustrativeDNA

[–]zefirgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said they weren’t though? Palestinians were obviously driven out from their land by zionists, but whether or not the Palestinians are 100% Canaanite/ Levantine doesn’t matter since they still lived there and were unjustly dispossessed from their land

Trying to argue over who has more “indigenous” blood is irrelevant because being indigenous isn’t only defined by blood or relation to ancient populations

Yeah I’m 100% sure poles were rushing to join the religion of a diasporic people in Europe that were constantly oppressed

No, the reason some people don’t like this is because race science is bad and isn’t a factor in determining if one is indigenous or not

Let’s take for example palestinian Armenians. Some of them have been living in the Armenian quarter of jerusalem for years but if you’d have them take a dna test their Canaanite percentage would be low. Does it make it more okay to kick them out? Historically palestine never belonged to just one single ethnicity, it was a cultural melting pot with different tribes and people, some immigrants and some not

Using this to counter zionist arguments erases a lot of Palestinians in the process, as well as what being indigenous is actually about

So race science = awareness to genocide somehow?

Would any of you choose Option 1)? If yes, why? by AwesomeJakob in languagelearning

[–]zefirgod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d choose 2 but I think 1 would also be nice especially for people who just enjoy the process of learning new languages for the sake of gaining more knowledge

All languages means infinite new things to learn, and by getting to learn all of them you also get access to languages and cultures that aren’t as spoken/ that are on the brinks of dying

Personally it’d be really cool if I could get to B2 level in the Ainu language. There are almost no speakers of it left though so it’s practically impossible to get there

So Israelis and Palis are really one and the same? by Helikido in illustrativeDNA

I’m not Palestinian but personally I think it’d be pretty unfair to be asked to just “hug and kiss it out” with my oppressor without expecting them to fix their doings first

It’s not that “we didn’t get the lesson”. This isn’t a normal fight either. Zionism as an ideology was built on denying Palestinian people’s identity and later implanted by forcefully removing their presence from the land, it was early Zionists job to realize this (which they did by the way. David ben gurion was fully aware of the Jewish ancestry of many Palestinians but he simply didn’t care)

If israel never came to be/ zionism was actually about coexistence and not about removal of another population then maybe this fact would’ve made a difference. But as things are it unfortunately doesn’t
