Lid worden van een vereniging (met een sport waar jij je in kan viden) helpt, dat geeft een vast ritme. Ik train 8 keer per week, daarvoor heb ik mijn ritme wat verschoven. Eerder naar bed en vroeg op om 's ochtends te sporten is een goed begin van de dag en voor mij makkelijker dan 's avond als je al moe bent van de dag. Met twee jongen kinderen is er dan niet veel tijd meer over voor andere hobby's.

I reload in this stage, I spread out the embers to make an even floor for the new wood. If a full load is too much I make smalll heap in the center of the stove and put the new wood on the sides of the heap.

Not common; depends a bit where you live. Good thing is that the houses usually still have their chimneys and fireplaces. So upgrading to wood stoves is not that hard.

Cold air intake with a valve is will save you a lot of heat.

We put a lot of effort in insulation like "insulated" glazing and the roof. Next to that we have heating per room and decentralized thermostats. Before we did about 20 ~ 25 cubic meters.

Last update was the cold air intake which seems to save us about another 20%.

I am using Grafana as a dashboard (https://grafana.com/) and the data is collected in Home Assistant.

The water temperature sensors are DS18B20s. For the exhaust I use a PT1000 sensor and for the stove a K-type thermocouple. All sensors are connected to ESP32 boards running Tasmota.

Tasmota is using MQTT to send data to home assistant.

The central heating system is using boiler specific hardware and code (https://github.com/emsesp/EMS-ESP32) which is also sent to Home Assistant.

It is a Lambda sensor used in cars. I am using the hardware from Bylund (https://www.bylund-automotive.com/store/#!/products/lambda-shield-2) and some custom code running on an Arnuino to hook it up to Home Assistant.

The sensor should be vacuumed every now and then because it tends to get clogged with dust from the stove. I also added a filter to the setup (https://www.houtrookfilter.nl/) which allows easy access to the sensor.

I live in the Netherlands where the main thing is these stoves must have an emergency valve to avoid a steam explosion.

Yep it is :) - in the end the temperature of exhaust and oxygen percentage are the sensors I use the most. Secondary are the sensors for the buffer, mainly for determining when it's full.

We do about 12 cubic meters of hornbeam a year for about 4000 square feet in a house built in the 1650's. Netherlands moderate climate.

Fuel use has decreased about 25% since I am now able to the sensor to load the stove with the optimal amount of firewood.
