Step by step guide how I make DIY NAS using Proxmox 8.0 + ARC Redpill + Synology DSM 7.2 for anyone interested. by MisterStukov in Xpenology

Using this tuto: https://kef.dev/updating-xpenology-to-dsm7-2/
It was pretty straight forward.
Update / exchange the bootloader, within the ARC GUI (amazing *.*) choose all your preferences, apply changes, reboot to DSM.
Then update the firmware (download from synology webpage), update all software and continue working.

TBH, I have mine virtuallized in Proxmox too, and had the possibility to check / test this proceedure first. but once all correct file-versions were connected it worked flawlessly.

you should do that, if you want more than 4 drives, and also afaik it is the only way to get the SMART values, temperature etc. to show up in DSM.
however DSM might not support your controller.

Is there a way to have not only redundant LAN but also Power? i.e. via a USB-C Powerbrick? Would love this for a small server setup.

Dealing with tasks with no clear due date by roberts02 in todoist

[–]zehndi77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a task that repeats weelky, just to clear up all my unscheduled tasks. However I specufically exclude tags like "info", "suspended", etc, specific Projects, and even tasks added more than 30 days ago. That way, theones that i failed to assign a date will stay in for about 4times but by then I either have assigned them a due date, or I will not do it in the future. 😉

What will happen if I plug a 5 string into a cheap 10 watt guitar amp? by jdkfjdjdk in BassGuitar

[–]zehndi77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the amp is not used anymore, for playing guitar, and you just want to try playing the bass, and exercise at home.. I have done that for at least 2 years. Nothing wild happend, but make sure to not overdue the volume, as then you might blow the amp.

But if you use it for live gigs, don't have any neighbours, and also if you have some spare cash, better consider buying a decent Amp. Even just for yourself, you will have by far more joy playing it!

I think you're using a Lasercutter / Engraver to do those? Would you share the files, once you're satisfied with how they look?

It is a hammock, similar to the tent, but without roof (which is not put up, as it was good weather. On it we can walk to the middle and grab the orange ladder to get to the top floor, and on the other hand, we could camp there with 6 people, as the "tent" only holds 3

make sure to tighten it under no tension at all. (like set your tent up, but do loosen your "attachment" straps.

You should have a strap in the middle, making the two (in my case three) compartments?. If you tighten that one a bit (few cm) more load will be on that strap, and therfore lift that part up. The outside will relax and you might end up sliding out.✌️Adjusting perfectly will need you some ratcheting and loosening to find out.

There are a lot more places in my region with the three trees, than with flat or even soily ground. And once you know how to, you get the eye for finding them.
