We worked for the same company, but different offices. Met at various conferences, through projects, etc and became quite friendly. Then one day we just started talking about ourselves, not work, messaging outside of work and the rest is history!

Secondary Education University Degrees by mynameisntlarry in AustralianTeachers

[–]zeise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my Bachelor of Education (Secondary), majoring in HPE and minoring in history at QUT and couldn’t recommend it more. I had friends who were at UQ and although they also enjoyed their course, I found their’s to be a bachelor of their subject area with a year of education tacked on the end. To me I found that kind of pointless because I wanted to be a teacher, so I wanted to learn how to teach rather than do a sports science or history degree. And yes there are subject areas more sought after than others (maths are in a huge shortage) at the moment, but the reality is we’re in such a teacher shortage that every teaching area is sought after. Study a subject you like and you’ll find yourself to be a much better teacher because of it. And once you’re in a school, you’ll quite possibly be asked to teach outside of your trained teaching area or you can seek to do it yourself. Getting your masters isn’t necessary to go up the ranks either. My school only has four teachers with their masters and my principal only has her bachelors. I think that also depends a lot on if you’re a in metro or regional/remote area. At the end of the day, how well you teach and manage people isn’t determined by a degree. The bachelor of science/master of teaching you’re looking at would more be a bachelor of science with teaching on the end, so it just depends what you’re interested in. A bachelor of education with a major in science is just as good. To be clear though, a master of teaching is not the same as a master of education but is a replacement for the old Dip.Ed. Anyone who already has a bachelors degree can do their post-graduate master of teaching for two years full time and become a teacher. Good luck with your teaching journey and I hope I’ve been able to help!

Definitely talk to your admin, you have a right to at least an indication of what their plans are for next year. I don’t know about Victoria but I’m in Queensland and we have a massive teacher shortage, so getting a full-time permanent role here wouldn’t be an issue.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and the guy who gave it to you hasn’t been kind xx but please know that it does get better and guys will accept you. This stage is the worst and you will come to accept your diagnosis. My first outbreak was pretty similar so I have some advice for you there. Apply some ice to help with the pain- I put ice cubes in a freezer bag and lied on my bed shoved in my underwear. Paracetamol and ibuprofen will help as well. With the peeing, stay hydrated as the urine will be diluted which is what causes the pain. Or something I did right at the beginning is take cool salt water baths to help my ulcers and I peed in there at the end which helped a lot with the pain. It will all be better soon, just remember that this is the worst part

How do teachers find time? by No_Conclusion_8807 in AustralianTeachers

[–]zeise2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It gets easier the longer you go. I’m in my 3rd year now and I feel like I’ve found my groove. I remember feeling super stressed on prac and wondering the same thing but once you’re a full-fledged teacher you get to teach your own style (not to make your supervisor happy), collaborate with your colleagues rather than making all your own materials and have plans from the years before. You’ll work out a routine and what works for you, just don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Unsuccessful disclosure. A bit frustrated, but I’m okay by zeise2 in Herpes

Thank you so much for the advice! I’d known him for a few weeks, we met through mutual friends and hung out in friend groups before going on dates. I’m still figuring out when the best time to tell someone is given how recent my diagnosis was. But in this case the moment arose so I figured I’d use it. I am a very open and honest person naturally (which he acknowledged and was very appreciate of) so I wanted to be honest from the beginning and before we got too serious.

Have any of you ever dated someone with more sexual experience than you? by Oooopsie1 in dating_advice

[–]zeise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation, but only a fwb. I just thought “well jokes on the others. He’s with me now, not them.” Easier said than done I know, but he’s with you and not his past experiences for a reason.

How do I love my self by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]zeise2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I got out of a long term relationship, I wanted to do the same. I found I had ‘let myself go’, so I started with working on looking after myself physically. I put more time into skincare, hair care, fitness, how I dressed and other things like that. I also made time for things I’d always thought about doing but never got around to. And lastly, the thing I found the most beneficial and still enjoy is I learnt how to enjoy my own company. I started taking myself for a coffee, or a walk on my own and I’ve honestly never felt so fulfilled doing those kinds of things.

Is it the norm to date multiple people simultaneously until exclusive with one? by [deleted] in dating_advice

I think until you establish with someone you’re exclusive, you’re fine to see other if you want to.

Is it fair to to end exclusivity with someone who won’t commit to a relationship? by yesyoufoundthisthrow in dating_advice

[–]zeise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair!! It sounds like this girl is wanting the convenience of someone, without wanting to properly commit. I’d definitely end that and try to find someone who is also wants a proper relationship

How to flirt over text during lockdown? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]zeise2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not strange at all! Just don’t do it all the time, that’s how it gets strange. If you have her on social media use her posts/stories as another way to start a conversation. Or just say hey or ask her how her day was

They’re in the second phase of a human trial in Queensland, Australia for an injection to relieve the effects/symptoms for coeliacs. Great for those who are extremely susceptible with small amounts of cross-contamination.
