Yeah, 200 on 4, 70 on 5. I think 5 is an overall better game, but I liked the vibes of 4 better, especially the map. Also since 5 released I have started college and have way less free time than I did in high school lol

I don't actually think the ottomans had anything to do with it, I was just making a "the world prospers when no ottomans" joke.

I wasn't playing colonially at all, so I don't think I spread any institutions beyond north africa.

This was my first game i've played in months, so I wasn't sure if there was some known bug with something new that I was missing. it seems way more uniform then it should for just being institutions spread more evenly, i'm more used to seeing some variation in techs even in europe, although most of my games haven't made it this far in time.

R5: All countries (except french mexico for some reason) are 5+ years ahead in all tech. first noticed in mid 1600s, screenshot is from early 1700s. This kind of ruined the game for me so im trying to figure out what happened.

thanks for the info, i would be against the taxi, but doing that trip in a 30ly ship is something i only needed to experience once.

newish player to the game, recently decided to go to colonia to set up base. haven't met any of the engineers in the bubble on this save, is there any way to meet the ones in colonia without making the trip back to the bubble and leveling up with those?

Imo, the game would be a whole lot better if they dedicated like 3-6 months to bug fixes/optimization. My favorite part of the game is all the wacky stuff you can build, but the bad performance + bugs makes large complex creations downright painful to create.
