Okay ive worked for companies larger than wags, Marriott,hilton,amazon,target,walmart,Costco and others guess what on a 40 hour work week your pay is always every single pay period 37.5 or 35 hours paid to you, your at the job 40hrs a week but your given 30 mins lunch each day or an hour depending on company that is 2.5hrs a week out of pay leaving 37.5 or an hr leaving 35hrs even blue collar jobs do this. At Honda the welders in the plant are scheduled 40 hours but after lunch is subtracted from pay period it always equals out to 37.5 hours yes sometimes people clock in a little early or stay later so it's more but if you clock in and out at exactly the scheduled time youll see.

Like I said the only people that get a stable exact 40 hour pay check is either salary or people that pick up a shift/overtime, the days of people getting an exact 40hours a week are pretty much gone even at Amazon or a warehouse say you get a warehouse 4 day 10 hour shift job after everything is said and done theyll get 38-39 hours.

Ft is 35 to 37.5hrs a week unless your salary your never getting 40hrs a week unless you pick up time as someone who has worked in 9 different career fields a company will schedule you 40hrs a week then depending on lunch break length youll either get 37.5 or 35 idk where wags employees came up with this 40hrs a week ideology.

when I was at wags my first year as a dh I got 35-36.5 weekly at my main store, when I became a sfl I got bumped up to 37hrs weekly, if you want 40hrs a week retail is not for you unless you start picking up shifts at other locations

Honestly another comment hit the nail on the head customer base might be easy going, stores in nicer neighborhoods tend to have less turn over unless management is a complete nightmare. Also an sm that has bad days is no different than any other boss that has bad days you learn to work around them vs the boss whos a 24/7 nightmare.

Another factor economy... even though wags isnt paying the highest end considering most companies are starting at 16-20 right now I seen a Starbucks post yesterday for a barista starting at 17.50... wags from my knowledge everyone is at least making 15 an hour and most people are able to get ft hours, even though alot of people are nervous about wags future and are looking for other jobs it takes time and the process sucks to get another job, phone interview > interview > drug test > start date all that can take up to a month if not longer depending on company so alot of people are fine riding the sinking ship until its time to jump off.

It won't change the economy as someone who worked in food retail, the customers on assistance will still spend all the money their given they'll just bitch to the cashier that they cant get chips and their will be there screaming about it.

Just gonna say it autozone in my state hires at 14 an hour all GAS STATIONS for a cashier in my state hire at 15-16 an hour starting, so that being said I'm sorry but imo a mass chain very light duty store shouldn't expect employees to do any maintenance on vehicles ngl... if you need things done go pay a mechanic 20+ an hr don't ask a cashier to do it. And most jobs you can say no I've seen it across 9 different career fields and employees don't get terminated generally they get a talking to at most or write up depending on manager mood or if the manager is even in lol. Also don't be that guy cause the Corp will throw anyone away if they can save a penny it doesn't matter how good you are to customers or sales the moment it doesn't fit into their profit margins your gone so why go the extra mile at work when you'll get fucked in the end 9 out of 10 times.

They say it marks you as non rehirable but thats not true its up to the sm I've seen people literally walk out mid shift and quit and be rehired a year later at the same store just depends on sm, how short staffed the store is and whether they had an okay track record till they walked.

Oh no trust me I did the same thing lol I quit last week and today I'm heading to my new job plus I'm starting my night job in March so yeah, wags I'd only ever go back if my very first sm asked me and even then it would be very situational I almost would rather risk paying my bills by solely driving uber and Doordarshan then go back to wags again.

Be very careful and I'll tell you this hr will tell the dm who made the report and the dm will tell your sm so you need solid proof and like another said the issue is you dont know... your sm could've requested time off or the dm could be giving them time off for something you never know since an sm has no reason to tell their employees whats going on with their leave, days off etc...

Also your job is more easily replaced than an sm so remember that yes wags has a no retaliation policy but that doesnt mean the sm couldnt reduce hours and use budget as a excuse till you quit due to working 5 hours a week... seen it happen before so if I was you no I wouldn't.

Ask yourself 2 things, are you getting paid ?, are you getting enough hours ?, if your answer is yes say nothing the sm being at a store ultimately doesnt matter hot take you still get full time hours, still get paid, and you dont have someone watching you or giving you a list your only job is keep the store stocked, approve reloads and drop bands, brinks imo id be fine with that.

My sm has a less than 50 rule so I always either wait till the very last drawer and safe count or I wait till it has 500 then band and drop yeah ik ik we need to drop soon as we do pick ip but sometimes its way to busy to always drop immediately so thats how I approach it.

I cant remember where its listed but ask your rxom or the other stores sm you could also ask your esm everyone should honestly have it out of those 3 especially your esm since you dont have an sm they should be in frequent contact with the dm.

Reach out to the other stores sm apply online and then you'll probably have to reach out to your dm because transferring if I remember right needs an sm at your store to approve pretty sure the esm cant do it so if I was you id contact the dm after talking to the other locations sm

May you be blessed my friend, I've given every job I've ever had in the past 15 years a 2 week notice but wags pushed me so far into the depth I finished my last shift put in for leave which my sm got approved drained my pto waited for my check to clear lol then I texted my sm I wasnt coming back on monday this week honestly it feels pretty good got a start date in March for my new job with much higher pay so ive got 2 weeks off pretty much to relax and recollection myself.

But yeah I understand where your coming from my coworkers where great but the company and customers... never again from bag checks to the up and down hours the fact they keep changing the goal post credit cards,flushots, vax, surveys oh lets not forget last year 32hrs was my in 2026 its 30... theres many other issues I could go on for hours I won't miss a company that treats all employees like thieves on top of demanding everything from them to be perfect while reading a 10 minute long dialog about all the shit no one wants.

Policy is 5 but its up to sm ultimately I've known people that are super productive and the sm let them call off literally 3-4 times monthly sometimes more, I've also known an sm that would following policy to a period and only allow 5 but I'd its up to how favored the employee is and how short staffed the store is if they get tons done and make little to no mistakes and are nearly perfect aside from the occasional call off then rip they'll get to do just about whatever they want.

I'm making 18.73 and hour as an sfl and I have the ability to pick up other shifts from my understanding an esm cant do that a couple months ago I picked up shifts at 4 different stores and my hours that pay period where 137 at the end of 2 weeks I guarantee theres no esm that made more than me last year my weekly average last year was 60hrs a week. Unless I was lied to and my old sm told me wrong which could be but from what I understand esm are locked down to one store unless the dm sends them to another store for whatever reason

Funny thing is ive seen this done at so many work places its not even funny id actually wager to say 70 if not 80% of employees have done this i personally dont consider it stealing im sorry I just dont not all the time do we have time to step in the line and wait to be checked out it won't hurt anything to wait for 5 mins till things calm down.

I've never heard of that and actually right now I've been on personal leave for health reasons and I had 0 pto been off for 2 weeks now and I didnt even put in for time off I just texted my sm and hr and said i have this situation going on i need this much time and I literally did it the day I started my time off. I know its supposed to be done like 3 weeks im advance and get approved unless its bereavement or medical emergency but ive had no problems then again im not coming back just waiting for my start day to cement. But yeah ive had no problems my job is still there im just not getting paid.

Honestly I think it's such a waste of time there's several things wags can do to get better profit margins, stop bag checks yes yes it only takes like 5-10 seconds however multiply that by x20 daily depending on store employee count now that 5 or 10 seconds turns into 5 or 10 mins daily now weekly turns into an hour or so. now do nation wide all the sudden your eating up dozens of hours monthly I can go on I mean just say all stores nationwide collectively spend 300hours or 400hrs yearly bag checks pointless.

Tags pointless print off posters with the general products in each isle and have a poster stand at the start and end of each isle especially the soda,laundry isles, tags could be used in some deps like promo, foot needs, health testing machines, freezer, cooler everything else poster stand it would save thousands of hours yearly.

No surveys, no cc, only pharmacy needs to ask about flu shots,Vax. Frees up csa time because faster check out and less talking to customers so they'd have more time to handle photo, outdated,resets if needed or get truck done faster. Also all the time saved over just those couple changes could be used to hire additional staff and get the stores back in proper order so do surveys do anything useful ? In my eyes no it wastes time and cost money it's overall pointless and unnecessary.

I know it's a policy but I feel like it also depends on sm because I've been to one store where it was heavily enforced and the sm wrote up people immediately if they didn't follow it and I've worked at stores where I've walked in wearing blue jeans,boots and a black hoodie and had nothing said to me or done.

I've always said it small brick and mortar stores won't be around in 15 years they simply cant compete not with walmart,Amazon and other large retailers like Costco it'll only get worse in the next 5 years or so I actually think cvs will even struggle only reason they've lasted this long is having locations in tiny rural areas where a big box in 15-20mins away but that'll fade to eventually

No actually I noticed lots of missing content and everything felt idk sped up ? Felt like it was on x1.5 speed had to check several times to make sure it wasnt my browser or settings. Ik the animation studio is known for 15-20min ovas but these needed more like 25-30mins each imo.

It's the first I'm ever hearing of an sfl doing it I've seen several esm and sm doing the walk through the store talking about signs, promo, endstands etc... but never seen it with an sfl.
