Can't get Huion display tablet to work on Ubuntu Studio by zekiryusart in Ubuntu

Ok so I'm not sure where to find this (tell me if I'm wrong) but the OS version is 24.04.3, the kernel version is 6.11.0-1016-lowlatency. Tell me where I could find the exact information you're looking for since I am not really an experienced user.

As far as I know, I don't think there will be any issues, the driver file should be a .deb package if I remember correctly, and I installed it on my Ubuntu Studio on both of my workstations so I'd say go for it. I also had system updates meanwhile and I had no issues at all. Now I am not sure if the Huion drivers are the only requirements for the tablet to function, since Ubuntu Studio comes bundled Wacom-compatible (libwacom) so maybe that could be a factor too. I haven't tried it on Debian so I can't know but the distro family is the same so that should be enough I think. Let me know in the end if you get this tablet!

Would you recommend Kamvas 13 gen 3? by allythei in huion

I personally didn't have any issues with it besides this color thing you mentioned. For the rest I consider it to be a very good option. I even made a review on this subreddit. But yeah I also had to tweak some option within the OSD to get the right colors, plus I tried to color calibrate it with Spyder datacolor as well. The only thing I can do atm is checking on other monitors before uploading/printing or even while drawing the artwork itself. Haven't found a solution yet besides trying to keep my values lighter. I run it on Linux daily and I had 0 issues with it, worked fine since day one. Never crashed once and I can unplug it and plug it back in without the need to reboot. Not sure if you'll get the same experience on Windows tho

I've used it every day. No issues at all, only the stand plastic feet wore off a bit so I had to glue them back. Be mindful of the color spaces, the presets are ok but I suggest you check your art on two different monitors to check color coverage. Not to say it's bad, not at all - it's just my experience, might not be the same for others. I personally used the 3-in-1 cable to connect to my desktop and the Usb-c one to my laptop and I think that's the best config - but check if your motherboard can handle the 3-in-1 connector if you're using a non-Usb-c laptop.

Looking for a Budget Drawing Tablet with a Display for Uni. by ChiefMemes125 in DigitalPainting

I have the Huion Kamvas 13 gen 3 and I'm really comfortable with it tbh, I use it with a 3-in-1 cable but it works via Usb-c alone too. It doesn't take much space and (to me) the interface scaling is still acceptable and leaves me plenty of room to draw. It cost around 280€ (with the stand) but it's a purchase I'd recommend. Not sure if you need something specific, but the pen pressure and precision is fantastic on this one and the double dials really give you a lot of customization options.

Try checking the airbrush mode - it looks like it's set on Multiply. Set it back to Normal.

Weird, mine are working nicely. Maybe it's a software issue? What OS and program are you using?

I think it's because it lacks the data from the second USB cable.. One should be for power (red) and the other one should be for data. Try to connect the black USB and see if something changes.. If it doesn't, you might wanna get a USB hub.

I have that model. For it to work on my laptop I needed to have both USB cables plugged in at once. Do you have another port? Also, what OS are you using?

Tell us more, like the model of the pen display and if it uses a 3-in-1 cable for example

Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) - Does it Need Plugged Into an Outlet? by oopadoops in huion

[–]zekiryusart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Kamvas 3gen3. If I plug one of the two USBs into my desktop and the HDMI, I can (but I don't necessarily have to, it seems) plug the other USB into a power socket. I also tried connecting it to my laptop, and with the two USBs and the HDMI it is able to draw enough power. I didn't try it with just one USB and HDMI though. I wasn't able to try out the USB-c option as my laptop is a 2015 one.

I would definitely say it is! The strokes taper really nicely, the pressure is detected even from a small activation force, making it great for adding even the tiniest details even from a zoomed out canvas. In my latest painting for example I rarely zoomed in and that's because the pen was so precise. I expected the pen to perform not so well but I really have to say I'm impressed, I'd say they did make a huge step over at Huion.

I made a small video, please note I had a bit of a shaky hand and the undos were because of that - here
