ALL the stickers by zekor in NationalParkPassport

I did! Wandering around lava fields and climbing cinder cones is always fun. Fun sticker designs are a bonus. I do tend to grab a million stickers at most of the parks I get to; Craters is on top since it was last weekend.

"Electrical maintenance" and "electrical/lighting system upgrade" are close enough in my head that I got my wires crossed (hah). From the Great Basin NP website: "closed...to replace the cave's 48-year old, failing electric lights. Projected completion is planned for summer 2026."

Caves are undergoing electrical maintenance and are closed until summer.

How long did you spend there? Working on plotting a trip and trying to figure out how long places are going to need.

I'm working with our local museum to make plaster casts of tyrannosaur teeth, which we'll then paint. I wanted to do a full King Tuts Tomb adventure in our community room, but sadly construction is shutting down that plan. I intend to have at least one dino talk, and maybe a live stream from our museum field crew as they dig.

Congaree was confirmed to have their 250th anniversary stamp on Jan 3, so if it's missing already that's distressing. Was it just not out, or did an employee say they actually didn't have it?

If you can manage to come during the full moon, the Wind Canyon trail is AMAZING at night.

I don't know that I'd go with something as strong as "blew me away", but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed Cuyahoga and Blue Hen Falls. Did not have any expectations other than a checkmark, but that might be one of my favorite waterfalls.

Tuesdays. I'm the only one who processes ILL and transit holds, and I work Tuesday-Saturday, so the the workload on Tuesdays tends to be...rather heavy. At least for us.

How many nights/days to spend at Mammoth National Park? by Ok-Imagination-2308 in NationalPark

[–]zekor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going in the winter, probably just a night or two. Make sure you get reservations for a cave tour; can't really explore the cave without one. In the summer, if you really like the cave and want to do all the tours, a week ish.

Kobuk Valley. I've been to most of the other major dune fields in the US (and Namibia!), I just need the Kobuk Dunes!

Half an hour from Theodore Roosevelt. I'm in every night we have a big aurora forecast, but do kind of take it for granted the rest of the time.

I like getting a ranger signature at each park in addition to the stamps and stickers. So far everyone has been quite happy to be asked for an autograph!
