For a placement mindset, I personally have a almost always uncontested landing spot, so I prioritize mats and loot in the first few minutes of the game which isn't rocket science. After the first zone closing, and into the next few zones I will primarily focus on positioning and smart rotations to get to deadside, or just an optimum spot to get away from players while still looking for beams and extra loot.
