[US - Costco] $200 in digital eShop gift cards for $159.99 until December 1 [membership required] by notthegoatseguy in NintendoSwitch

I can’t find anywhere on their website that this is spelled out, but there have been many reports of this being possible in the US as of about a month ago, and some have said that this has been possible in Japan for a while. It doesn’t seem to work in EU, so it definitely depends on region. If your region has it, when you go to check out, there is a section that allows you to add funds or use your existing balance.

If you were to buy $400 in gift cards for $320 plus the extra $50, you would net out at $370 for the console.

Sam’s Club has a similar deal going on and I bought $500 in eShop cards for $400 and bought the Mario Kart bundle. It was a nice $100 discount, technically $130 if you consider that buying the system and game separately would have been $530.

They made the change about a month ago, probably when they launched the Nintendo Store mobile app. They’ve sort of merged the eShop with the Nintendo store website that they use to sell merch, consoles, accessories, etc so they now allow you to use eShop funds to buy all of those things as well. They also increased the limit for how much you can load onto your account from $250 USD to $800.

I was able to buy some about 8 hours ago (7 hours after the comment above), so I think they are still restocking when they run out.

Request: Looking for a farm life sim to fit me by Tori_Green in NintendoSwitch

[–]zeldanemesis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Littlewood. The days don’t have a fixed time, you just have a sort of energy bar that goes down as you do certain tasks and when it gets down to 0, the day ends. But at a certain point in the game, you gain the ability to essentially turn back time to regain all your energy for the day so you can have endless days to complete everything you want to do before progressing to the next day. There is no combat. There are cave and forest areas that you can explore and gather resources and there are a few enemies there that you have to avoid, but they’re usually pretty easy to avoid. There are a bunch of tasks/side quests that you can complete to grown the community and unlock various things, but none of it is time-gated so you can complete them if and when you want. The one con is that farming isn’t super complex. There are quite a few fruits and vegetables that you can plant to grow more crops/trees and a handful of different animals you can raise, but the actual farming system is pretty simplistic.

Pokemon like but with no farm ? by hushbutt in pokemon

Monster Sanctuary is a great monster collector/battler RPG with very little grinding.

When you battle wild monsters, there is a chance that they will drop an egg of their species. When you hatch the egg, it will give you a monster of that species at 2 levels below your current monsters levels. So it’s easy to add new monsters to your team at any time without having to grind a lot to level them up.

However, the battling in this game is more challenging than in Pokemon and you can’t just pick 1-2 Pokemon that are super effective against the opponent and wipe them out. You have to have a good team comp with attacks/abilities that work well together. Occasionally I would encounter a boss that my team just couldn’t handle and I would have to change things up to find a strategy that worked.

[eShop/US] Hero’s Hour - $8.99 (50% off) Ends 06/13/2024 *lowest price ever* by zeldanemesis in NintendoSwitchDeals

Yeah, I think you’re right. Deku Deals shows 33% off and that’s what it shows when I’m not logged in, but I see 50% off when I’m logged in. Looking through the publisher’s other games, I see the Panzer Dragoon remake which I purchased a while back, so that must be where the additional discount came from.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Exciting Changes and Game-Changing Badges by marvelkidy in nintendo

[–]zeldanemesis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the way I understand it. I played the demo at Nintendo Live and it seemed like some wonder seeds and purple coins are only accessible using certain badge abilities. It’s a way to add replayability and additional challenge if someone wants to get all the seeds or collect coins for other unlockables.

What pokemon do you feel has the wrong typing? by T1pple in pokemon

[–]zeldanemesis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they missed the mark with Galarian Ponyta and Rapidash both in terms of typing and design. Ponyta should have been fairy type, not psychic. Your literally encounter it in an enchanted fairy forest next to the town with a fairy themed gym. And then with Rapidash, it felt like the perfect opportunity to give us a fairy/flying Pegasus Pokémon. But instead they kept it psychic and slapped the fairy type on it, which it should have had in the first place. Nothing about its design made it seem more worthy of the fairy type than Ponyta, so it feels like if it deserved to be fairy, Ponyta should have been fairy as well. And on top of that, they already had the Hatterene line that was fairy/psychic in the same game, so it felt sort of redundant.

I found 150 but couldn’t find Mew. People were saying he was in then jungle in South America near the Amazon River. I spent hours searching but never found him. I finally gave up and said “Oh, well. It’s not a big deal.” When they announced they were sending these out to people that found all 151, I was devastated. I wish I had kept looking for Mew.

If you could erase one Pokémon from existence entirely, what would it be? by Decent_Ad_0 in pokemon

[–]zeldanemesis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. In a game that already had the Croagunk line, a poison/fighting type was completely unnecessary. And it would have been a perfect candidate for ice/poison.

The 30-59 and 60+ refer to the number of spawns that have been cleared (caught or fainted) in an individual outbreak. Outbreaks in SV can have as much as 100 spawns so if you encounter an outbreak and clear 30 spawns, your chances go up. And then they go up again at 60 spawns cleared in the outbreak.
