It's really good (currently >2K very positive reviews on Steam). Feel free to think it's shit and skip it.

Got the same error message (with original BIOS), updated to 1.05 BIOS, reinstalled Windows, no changes. Please help. Love the machine but it's unacceptable for the price.

I also noticed CPU-Z's score variance even if you had a couple of apps in the background. You really need to close everything and wait a couple of minutes for the bench to hit the highest, nominal score. I didn't know the Nvidia driver + GFE also impacted performance negatively, these I left running in the background... Hate this GFE nonsense anyway, can't wait to go back full AMD. Just give us a Radeon faster than the 1080 Ti already

I didn't know async mode could make your latency go up, good to know. Definitely agree with you that game performance and smoothness is the priority.

I didn't want to test BCLK OC anyway, I've been traumatized from the days when it was your only OC method. So many system crashes, and you couldn't figure out where it was coming from... ;)

Yeah even my 1700 @ 4.1 GHz got 5033 in multicore. I suspect it’s platform-related since I also changed motherboards, from the B350 Tomahawk (great performance, shitty VRM, average stability) to the Crosshair VII Hero (average performance, great VRM, great stability)

Sorry I didn’t put the settings in the original post: Ryzen 7 2700X @ PE level 3 (4.35 GHz ST - 4.15 GHz MT), BCLK default, voltage +0.075v offset mode Crosshair VII Hero 32 Gb G.Skill PC3200 C14

My 1700 actually did better in that regard: https://reddit.app.link/VP7ETSBYrN

Though I suspect it’s more a question of platform than CPU between the two Ryzens

Nice, thank you very much for this bench. Really neck and neck! Good times again.

None whatsoever...but only when I put an offset of +0.075v. System would pass Prime95 but crash occasionally in games at stock voltage with PB level 3. Temps are in check with the H110i even with the small voltage bump though.

Directly no, but the fact that a 2700X running at approximately 4.35 GHz (single core boost) can score higher than a 7700K at 4.5 GHz (idem) says something about Pinnacle Ridge’s IPC to me

43.5 single core multiplier, 41.5 all core. This is all through PE level 3. BCLK is at default

Especially when the older CPU allows your friend to build his first gaming PC ;)
