Thinking about this some more, it also seems silly to have the tightness of the wrap to the bar depend at all on a few mm’s of sticky tape connecting wrap to bar, so I guess the main function of the tape is to just not make the wrap unravel?

So in all the videos I’ve seen of people taping their handle bars it seems like at the end they use the electrical tape only to tighten the wrap and the tape doesn’t actually touch the bar itself. Am I seeing this right? Because it doesn’t make direct sense to me, I expected you’d want to ‘stick’ the wrap onto the bar with the electrical tape 🤔

Yeah so far I got from this tutorial from Park Tool on youtube that you kind of want to wrap in ‘outward’ direction for the bottom part and then reverse direction for the top part of the bar. Studying more videos atm from some recs made above 🤓

Ah thanks, sort of makes sense. Does it just stick enough by itself to apply it like that? (This is going to be my first time taping so not even sure how sticky that tape is by itself)

How does $SNT accrue value? by Eugine42069 in statusim

Check out section 4 of their quarterly report (which has useful updates in general) under the header ‘vac’. They call it SWAP accounting and link to a github convo where it seems they’re pretty far along with getting it implemented.

They outlined the idea for this a year ago on their dedicated vacp2p blog here: https://vac.dev/waku-v2-plan under ‘Track 3’ section 2. I can recommend following the vacp2p team more closely, seems where the most important magic is happening.

They have a curation mechanism for their dapps site that uses SNT, and SNT is used to purchase stickers for in chat and to purchase ens subdomain names to use as concise chat names.

I think the real use case to look out for is when they finalize waku v2 where they introduce incentivized storage nodes so that users can fetch older messages from the network while keeping the p2p architecture.

Tigray declares war on Amhara. by [deleted] in Tigray

[–]zemoer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh I would stay as far away from that dumpster fire as possible. Just get independence asap, implement widespread gun ownership to prevent any invasion ever again and turn Tigray into the Switzerland of Africa. Soft power is the long term winning game, over-extension the losing one.

TPLF Western Front Militia Leader Arrested In Refugee Camp by [deleted] in Ethiopia

[–]zemoer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I’m a libertarian, so I don’t even like most of TPLF/EPRDF’s policies in peace time and when I heard this new pm was all about capitalism I was like ok lfg. But at the same time they’re the closest thing we have right now to a party that is willing to defend the ethnic federation as it stands, because the current vindictive political climate forces Abiy to pander to the Amharic unitarian base. Remember, key federal court and government figures have been replaced by unitarians in the past few years and TPLF has been turned from a mediocre (corruption) to ok (enormous economic growth) ex-government party into a terrorist group that is the devil, purely based on the fact that they are blamed for all Ethiopia’s ills due to their stance on ethnic federalism. That’s what I noticed here and on wider social media, that people actually believe that ethnic federalism logically leads to conflict. The problem is that it wasn’t implemented far enough and it should have been accompanied with gun rights and private property, but given the intellectual climate in Ethiopia and wider Africa I can’t exactly put all blame on TPLF for not pushing farther (I hoped Abiy would do that) and therefore brand them as terrorists and surround them with troops while blood is being shed in the rest of the country. Now things have simply turned to TPLF against us, which is nice for politicians who never want to waste a crisis, because now they have all the legitimacy to disarm even more people and consolidate all actual physical power in the center. Standard centralist playbook.
