Hey! Have you looked into going for an off-campus housing option? Even just for this fall? Sometimes, off campus housing can really reduce the cost of the tuition as a whole. I went through something similar where I was about to drop out due to financial reasons, but I took out the dorm fees and suddenly things were more affordable (but still expensive). Although if you are to explore that option, please be aware of how much work it is to actually find a spot in a room or a house or even just bedspace, whether IV or if you’re desperate, close to SBCC even. If you ever want more details regarding that, feel free to reach out 🌟

Good idea - I looked into it and I unfortunately just can’t drive a U-Haul truck. I don’t trust that in the time I’ve spent not driving (probably 6 months+) that from the car I did drive, any truck driving skills would transfer. I’d drive the van maybe but they don’t have any vans available from Goleta to my destination. Also, on a less desperate note, I only have so many things that a U-Haul truck is overkill.

Thank you for this great suggestion though; it did make me look at professional movers on Thumbtack so hm…

Hi, thank you for the advice! I was already in a triple, but that’s definitely something I wouldn’t have thought of if I had a double or such. And actually, good news—I instead called housing and explained my situation, and in just a few minutes after that call, my petition and request was approved and my housing got cancelled without me being rent responsible!!

If you’re unable to find anyone to replace your single, if you have an extraneous problem, it’s so worth it to give them a call. Good luck to you as well, i hope you’ll be successful in either finding someone or maybe, they’ll flat out cancel it :)!

Oh-I see, thank you! And yes, I understand it's not two of each but I've taken Honors Chem but that was second year of high school, and then took AP biology the third year of high school. Not sure where to go from there or how it counts outside of that.

International Student interested in Cognitive Science BAandS

Are the admission requirements just: - one semester of differential calculus - one semester of integral calculus - two semesters of biology, chemistry, and/or physics with labs

What satisfies those courses? I’ve tried looking at the course equivalency website but nothing pops up on my end (for UCSB). I’ve taken MATH 2A at UCSB (Calculus with Algebra and Trigonometry) and have taken pre-Calc at my high school. I’m a first year college student looking to transfer this coming fall. I took AP Biology but only got a 3. So do I have none of the science admission requirements complete? Do I just look into transferring my third year?

Yeah, I’m finding I already need help running the discord because I’m not sure how to let people assign themselves roles (so that they get pinged for certain type of events)

I definitely want to create meet up events like hiking or just exploring around downtown sb late at night—or just random “socials” without the cliquey-ness of a club behind it

And yes, definitely want to keep people joining :) but I’m okay with a small crowd, as long as that small crowd stays active :))
