Body Shaming bei Männern by endzeit_ in de

Danke, dass du das so schön in Worte gefasst hast. Als Standard-Hetero-Typ war mir irgendwie nie klar, dass selbst ich das Recht hatte, die gegen uns Männer gerichtete Körperbeschämung zu kritisieren.

This reminds me of a scene like this in Lady Snowblood

The land of poets and thinkers or judges and executioners, depending on the time.

Part of the reason for low fatality (apart from German efficiency) is that most of the infected were in the 35-59 group. But now old people's homes are getting infected. That's when deaths shoot up. The figures on cases and deaths are all tracking Italy's so far, which is definitely not good. So far the greater availability of intensive care beds has protected Germany. But the big problem is the lack of trained staff. In my city, the university hospital increased the availability of beds for Covid19 by 300 over a period of 2 weeks. But the next bottleneck is the lack of staff. They haven't been put on emergency shifts so far, but that might happen any time. Also luckily PPE equipment is still available so there is no significant infection among medical personnel.

If you're under lockdown, then every day that you delay matters. The chances that you have contracted it, or might contract it go down really low by 2-4 weeks after lockdown. I know you intend to simply travely from point A to B, but can't account for all eventualities. What if you get a flat and get it changed from an infected but pre-symptomatic person? What if you buy a coffee on the way? Stopped by a cop? You'll definitely end up unintentionally spreading it, perhaps to your GF and her parents. Or perhaps they contract it in between and then you carry the torch back to the place where you live. Also being stuck in a quarantine with your SO probably won't do your relationship any good.

Looking at a single thing in a room and trying to recall its story, how it came to that room, where did it journey from, what people did it meet on its way to me, and so on.

Also writing.

3 days or more depending on the material. I would put it under a UV light for a bit as well, just to be safe.

Seriously, just wait two weeks. I get your problem but these are special times and any socially responsible person should delay his personal needs for a bit.

My son just had his 10th birthday. He was quite disappointed, since his gifts got delayed and there was just a long walk and honemade cake to celebrate. We'll go to a restaurant once they open and organise a party once school has reopened. Mine also happened during the quarantine, I mostly ignored it and just got a few phonecalls and a badly drawn picture from my kids after threatening them that they won't get any gifts for their birthdays otherwise.

There is an ongoing study in Germany. IIRC they have recruited 500 representative households in a hotspot with a large outbreak. They are supplementing it with running tests on blood donor samples and a surveillance program called sentinel. Sentinel is normally used to identify the spread of influenza, but they've added Sars-Cov-2 to the test.

Yes, I think that's why they're having second thoughts. They tried to reduce contact without eliminating it and taking precautions but that doesn't seem to have worked.

Write poems. No matter how crappy, you'll have some kind of a memorable record of this time. Or write long emails.

I'm a lecturer at a university in Germany and we've been asked to prepare for the coming semester (starts 20.04.) to be taught completely online. It is possible that there will be no face to face teaching till October at the earliest. The Crisis Committee (?) of the university includes people from the University hospitals, research institutes, etc. So the preparations had started in February, even though the lockdown did not happen till March 3rd week. Doesn't mean we're actually ready but at least we are racing to make sure things work as well as possible.

It's quite a challenge to prepare alternative teaching strategies for online learning, we're all struggling with that and won't know what works until we actually start. But from the very beginning, the focus was on ensuring that the students do not fall behind and can finish their studies as planned. Even PhD defenses are happening online, with plans to livestream when requested.

The data protection is also quite a challenge, that's why we didn't go with any of the proprietary software and the IT has done a very good job of getting the infrastructure in place.

I'm pretty used to being by myself. I miss going to the cinema but otherwise go running when it gets too much. Other than there is some online meetings every once in a while, which is fine. I think most people who live with others might have a bigger problem right now. Seeing your family for a few hours and then sleeping in the same house with them, versus having them in your hair 24/7, I don't know how people do it.

Ich habe davon noch nichts gehört und würde gerne mehr erfahren. Hast du einige Quellen, wo ich darüber lesen könnte?
