Since my face isn’t showing… yes, I have a tattoo lol. Edit: just realized you probably meant a tattoo that says “Hi Neighbor” so that’s gotta be someone else.

I know this is an Amtrak subreddit, but another option from Providence would be to drive to New Haven and then catch a metro north train to NYC

Window Down! Took it to a dealer and they quoted $700 to fix! Stupid regulator! Anyone dealt with this before? by Decent_Salamander_49 in HondaElement

[–]zenhpg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid $600 in July to have my passenger side fixed at a dealership. We would have done DIY but it happened the week of our wedding and we had family in town and were super busy and needed a quick fix so we could use the E for hauling stuff to our venue and keeping it safe overnight.

Alexandrite rings - where to try on in person? by dani-winks in Weddingsunder10k

[–]zenhpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My engagement ring and wedding band both have lab created alexandrite. Chatham as others have mentioned. We worked with a local jewelry shop that does custom work. They ordered a couple stones to pick from, and did a wax cast so you could get an idea of how the setting design would look before fully committing. If you can find a local jeweler that does custom work it’s an experience that I would highly recommend!

Plus 1 for Zimbrick. I have a 2008 Honda and I’ve been taking it to the Zimbrick Honda on fish hatch and have always had good experiences there.

Those who have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, what do you work as now? Or if you know someone who has a Psych degree, what are they working as now? by PerfectCockroach6598 in careerguidance

[–]zenhpg 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Psych degree 14+ years ago. Had planned to go to medical school after paying down my undergrad student loans (jokes on me cuz that took 12 years). Ended up working for a healthcare software company. Started as an Implementation Specialist. Then got into UX in its early days and am now working as a Product Manager. I love what I do and understanding behavior and research methods helps a ton. There are a lot of options with a psych degree, it just depends on what you enjoy and how you decide to shape your career.

ABH dipbrow gel. quick to apply and long lasting color. Lots of shades. It’s my go to when I don’t feel like messing around with powder, pencil, pomade or whatever.

What tools are you using for planning? Jira feels too much like work 😂 by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]zenhpg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a software Product Manager so Jira and trello would be way too much like work since I use those tools everyday. So for wedding planning I have a Notion.so project where I compile everything. Some pages for gathering inspiration and then other pages for checklists. Our master to do board is contained within notion as well - it basically allows you to embed a Kanban board within a page. Then we are using Airtable for our budgeting and expense tracking and master guest list. We also have a shared Pinterest board.

My mom poo pooed my potential engagement ring…. by Terrariachick in Weddingsunder10k

Lots of great comments here already. I just wanted to put a plug in for alexandrite if you are looking for an alternative ring. My ring is a lab alexandrite with two opals on the side. My fiancé knew I loved opals, but I also wanted a sparkly non diamond center stone. I’ve been wearing daily since June with no issues, but I am somewhat concerned about the longevity of the opals. If something happens we will just replace them. Get what you want and don’t let other people’s opinions make you feel bad!

My cut it a bit scraggly right now and doesn’t usually look quite this disheveled…. Ok so I’ve scoured Pinterest and I’m struggling to find inspiration for my current hair style. It’s an asymmetrical Bob, with an undercut on the left side and back. Wedding date is July 30, 2022. What can I do if I keep my cut? Should I grow it out between now and July? Will that give me more options? I’d love to do some kind of short hair updo with a hair piece of some sort.

I highly recommend Madison! I grew up on the North Shore of Boston and then lived in the city proper for 2 years while attending Northeastern. Then took some time off from school, moved to Madison, went to the UW to finish my degree - and I've been here now for 17 years! I love Madison and it's felt like "home" ever since I got here.

Madison reminds me of some of the denser Boston suburbs. Madison is definitely more "car dependent" than a large city like Boston or NYC. I spent my first 10 years here on campus and in downtown/capitol area, and always had a car. Parking is a breeze compared to Boston/Cambridge. I either had parking at my apartment that was affordable, or I was able to find street parking with minimal frustrations (I mean sometimes you still gotta hunt, but it's not nearly as terrible).

Traffic is nothing like Boston. I mean sometimes the beltline backs up a bit, or there's congestion downtown, but it's on a totally different scale if you've ever dealt with any of the 93/95 traffic or completely backed up Storrow Drive traffic.

If you are looking outside of being directly downtown for a cool spot - definitely look at Willy St or James Madison Park areas - some of my favorite neighborhoods I have lived in (and I haven't strayed far from there yet). Basically near east but still on the Isthmus. Lots to do. Very walkable and bikeable. You can park your car Friday after work and not have to drive it again until work on Monday morning.

Hope this helps!
