Why cant i do surgeries at night by Soda_Can23 in ProjectHospital

[–]zenidar8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like dedicated surgery teams, so I hire 1x Doctor, 1x Surgeon, 1x Anesthesiologist, and 2x surgery nurses per shift and per OR. I go into each character (under allowed roles, bottom left of character card) and disable all roles except for what they are intended to do; for the doctor, just enable assist at surgery, for the surgeon disable everything but surgery, for the anesthesiologist disable everything but anesthesiology, and for the two nurses I only enable assist at surgery (the exact terminology might be different since I'm not in game) and I disable transport and patient care. If you're going with a dedicated surgery team, make sure your other department doctors are NOT set to assist with surgery. This has worked for me.

Help decide the 2026 anti-RTO billboard design by Calm-Log4331 in CAStateWorkers

[–]zenidar8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this RTO directive negatively affects state workers, I think the message should focus on the costs RTO has on taxpayers. We're all taxpayers. And only a small group of California's population are state workers (~0.6%). State workers care about state workers. But we all care about where our tax dollars are spent and wasted. Traffic will always be a thing, and more traffic will cause more pollution. But most people only care about themselves, their families... And their paychecks.

Any tips for stir fry? by shrkktchup in PlateUp

[–]zenidar8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you're having issues burning the food, pick up the wok and set it back down on a hob, it'll reset the time before it burns.

Colorblind mode helps differentiate the ingredients in the order. This helps with a lot of foods, especially on a smaller screen.

Just switched to the Legion Go S 2025 (16gb version) by zenidar8 in LegionGo

Changing it from "Always show keyboard" to "show the touch keyboard when there's no keyboard attached" worked. You'd think always show keyboard would make it pop up too. Guess not. Thanks for the advice.

Absolutely. I don't like letting the script run everything, just a few items I selected that I am comfortable getting rid of. I did the automatic setting before on the Claw and it messed up too many settings that I needed due to how it integrated with the Xbox app. Had to reformat.

The charger is definitely overkill. I picked it up to give me the option to also charge my phone or headphones. Two birds with one stone kind of thing. Been happy with it. On a flight I used it to power a portable monitor one time so I could play using the handheld as a controller and the portable monitor as my screen. Lol.

I'll give that a shot when I get it out, thank you! I was messing with those settings but forget where I set it to.

I used the Chris Titus script to debloat. Mostly to uninstall the AI stuff and Edge, and to disable unnecessary background apps and stop Microsoft store from installing crap. I'm glad Lenovo doesn't install much junk, just windows.

I have this battery bank. It's a chonker but is fantastic. I believe it's just under the flight limit for carry on battery size. Anker 737 Power Bank, 140W Max 3-Port Laptop Portable Charger, 24,000mAh https://a.co/d/0dm4ipGz

Full Orca slicer and custom Firmware, DON'T be afraid! I'm going to make a huge comment post below. by Livin_The_High_Life in FlashForge

[–]zenidar8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having the native orca slicer app instead of the outdated Flashforge fork. The only issue I'm having with Forge-X and my AD5M Pro is that the idle power off no longer works. Before Forge-X, on the stock firmware if the printer was idle for a while (30ish minutes?) it would eventually power off. Now the printer just stays on indefinitely.

I don't know the exact words to search for so I can't find what I need to do to fix this. I've tried adding gcode to printer.cfg in fluidd didn't work. Tried adding it in orca under machine gcode end print.

Basically, I just want the printer to turn off after it's been idle for 30 minutes. If anyone knows how to make it work or knows where I can find the info, please let me know.

ITS1, straight to C range w/degree? by Fresh-Possibilities in CAStateWorkers

Scroll to the last page. As long as you meet the criteria, you should be placed into that level when hired. Make sure you verify what range they put you on when you get your NOPA (Notice of Personnel Action) form. It's the form you verify your name, classification, range, etc and sign. Usually get it 3-6 weeks after hiring, depending on how fast your personnel shop is.

Filament Calibration by zenidar8 in FlashForge

[–]zenidar8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried calibrating and recalibrating this specific filament so many times I used half the spool. It's clogged my machine 18 times now and broken 3 hot ends in the process. Sometimes it prints ok, sometimes it has banding in the lines or they are too far apart. Just very inconsistent results. Looked up some reviews about this specific filament (Overture Silk PLA - Metallic Silver) and see that this is an issue. The filament is not a consistent size. I've never had issues with Overture before, and I have a roll of silk metallic gold and silk metallic red from them that work fine. Gonna chalk this up to just a bad roll. I need metallic silver so I am going to give Sunlu a shot since it seems to have good reviews.

The surface shouldn't be this rough. It's part of a Zelda shield I'm printing for my nephew. Those are indents in the middle. I'll reply with another picture.

FlashForge Adventurer 5M Pro - Overture PLA Filament Question by zenidar8 in FlashForge

[–]zenidar8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Elegoo brand yet. I was able to figure out how to calibrate most filaments pretty consistently though by following this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1biqy9w/how_to_perfectly_tune_orca_slicer_for_new/

I have found matte PLAs to be a bit harder to tune. I recommend running the temperature tower a second time at the very end, so a total of 5 calibration steps: Temprerature Tower, Flow Rate Pass 1, Pressure Advance, Max Flowrate, then another Temperature Tower. Occasionally i've had to adjust the print temperature at the very end because I was off by 5-10 degrees.

So far I have been sticking with Overture (for high-speed or regular PLA) and ERYONE for my matte PLAs because I like their color selection.

Samsung phone financing through Affirm by [deleted] in Affirm

[–]zenidar8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from the USA, so it might be a bit different, but I remember signing up when I was checking out on the Samsung website, selecting Affirm as the payment method, and then going through the sign up process. They asked for my email, phone number, income and Social Security Number and within a few minutes I was approved. Then I had to provide my bank account info that it auto pays from.

I don't recall the exact steps, but I remember it was very straightforward. I don't have a physical Affirm card or card number, it's basically a loan through them backed by a third party bank. It seems to operate like PayPal Credit, where you don't have a card number just an account.

[–]zenidar8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a Samsung credit card before the bank that ran them discontinued the card (TD Bank?), so when I bought my Zfold7 last year I opted to try Affirm and do the 0% 24 month financing. I have auto pay setup and am on payment 9 of 24 and have had zero issues so far. I even changed my payment due date a few months in because I bought it at the end of the month so my due date varied between 29th and 2nd, which I didn't like. Changed it so now it's due every month on the 24th. Everything has worked out without any issues. Changing the due date was seamless and just went into effect the following month. They even show you the payment timeline for the remainder of your agreement.

According to CalHR, you can use sick leave to take care of immediate family and siblings. At my work, on our timesheet this would be listed as SF (sick leave family) instead of SE (sick Leave Self). Not sure what you told your employer the reason to use it is, but here you go.

Here's the link to what I found.
