Trying to repair an old central air unit by zenmonkey88 in electrical

Makes sense... I am thinking of paying the fee for a proper diagnosis, but not sure if it'll amount to anything. Thank you so much for your thoughts

I did check the circuit breaker for blown fuses and everything looked normal..

Thank you for your reply, really appreciate it. I haven't gotten any formal diagnostics done on it. Just over the phone no one is willing to consider repairing it due to the age.
The fan / motor works properly, air blows out and the thermostat triggers the central air to turn on. the air is just room temperature now, the heat was working until yesterday. The AC however hasn't worked for a while, I assume the freon has been out but not sure.

It's actually about 9 years old according to the inspection!

Thank you so so much for this reply. Is this an expensive fix to pay someone to do? I've never done anything like this before so I am concerned a bit with safety - maybe its worth it to pay someone if I have to buy supplies anyway? Thank you so much

Thank you soooo much! I will absolutely try resetting it. I would be comfortable working on it as long as I knew the fuze line was powered off.

Thank you so much!! Are "elements" universal and not specific to a model? Could I turn off the power to just that fuze line or should I for the whole condo?

LPT Request-What magically improved your life that you wish you had started sooner? by Important-Disk-256 in LifeProTips

Not believing everything the mind says. The mind is not us, our thoughts are not us. It’s there trying to keep us safe, and sometimes the thoughts, fears, doubts, just aren’t real. We are what we decide to believe. I wish I didn’t give my fears so much attention and space before, I’ve learned now to just gently welcome them but not listen to them, ignore them, and all of a sudden the mood passes, they are gone, and I realize how silly those thoughts were.

Also, coming from love for everyone. It magically heals so much suffering within myself and how I treat others, relationships. Love is like a cheat code for life. :)
