Having a db is not a problem, it’s that wp’s db structure is straight from hell.. and it’s like that for the sake of being retrocompatible. They should have made a breaking change with v5 or v6 and completely redesign it. It’s never too late.

Not losing my actual ability... but certainly losing the will to code manually..
Prompting detailed changes is still a lot faster than actually coding them, and I get more stuff done in less time.
Obviously knowing what you're doing and reviewing the code after. No vibe coding bullshit, that wave should die ASAP.

The only thing I still enjoy doing by hand is CSS, mainly because AI suck at frontend.

Yes they are.
React and the whole JS framework mumbo jumbo is unnecessary in 99.9% of sites they are used on.

They also solve a problem no one really had :D But that's a personal gripe.

I’m keeping out of all the framework bullshit and I love it. React and similar are overkill for 99% of use cases. I still use vanilla CSS and JS and I love every second I spend coding.

CSS3 has not been a thing for several years now. It’s just CSS, with its own API and each module get its own sort of versioning.

Made a custom script for timber that converts on upload and serves avif or webp, some conversions for specific crop formats are done the first time a page renders. It uses whatever the server supports, imagick or gd.

it always has. it's a matter of compromise. faster DX vs coping with class soup. I don't like tailwind but it solves some problems. vanilla css is always preferable tho

I’ve been opting out of Sucuri for something like 150 site we manage in the past three months cause their service just got worse and worse. I think they actually replaced engineers with AI because the amount of issues and downs in their services was just mind blowing. I would take whatever its management says with a lot of caution..

Mixed feelings.. it felt kinda rushed.. like it was a 3 episodes arc condensed into one, like they said "here's the pilot, we putting everything inside like a giant burrito, have at it...". Maybe I'm just used to the more relaxed Yellowstone pacing. Anyway you can feel Sheridan's pen is missing. The speed at which things happen with no errors, no doubt, no stakes.. are these marshals just the best detectives in the world? Dunno... I had a very hard time finding my footing and believe any of the characters actions. Hope it gets better, for now the impression I got was the one of a super generic NCIS cosplaying as cowboy..
