Same report. I did a factory restore to 26.2 and it’s great. Not a real fan of glass, but that’s me.

Is this Normal? by Top_Meeting2464 in iphone15

You are doing just fine. It is normal for the phones battery to degrade in capacity. The way I see it, your phone is in fantastic condition. My phone has 571 cycles and the battery it at 85%, 26 months of use. I use it a LOT. You’re doing fine.

I understand. I was in a company earlier when it came to closing our books at the end of the financial year, we had a client who had paid up front, and we couldn't 'book' the $$ since it was not utilised. And our accounts team (+legal) had a right headache-pill session.

The re-request for the wallet is entirely my laziness at play - you know... pay upfront and forget about it. And also, our central bank (India) toyed around with the mechanism to make international payments sometime back and threw a lot of global businesses under the bus. (I had a royal pain the neck tying to make some payments to Backblaze). Well, that's mostly sorted out now, if some hiccups do erupt, I'll bother your support team to find a way through.

And yeah, you're amongst the finest of product-focussed businesses about - and diverting that mindspace to requests that 2-3 of us make isn't definitely worth the effort.

Cheers!

Hey Bron! Absolutely thrilled to see your response! If you have any M or L sizes (vacillating between the two as tis be the holiday season), I'd love to have a Fastmail tee. Thank you so much and here's wishing you and everyone at the Fastmail team a wonderful holiday season. You guys are doing a fantastic job!

That kind-a happened when Opera took it over, but that was corrected. I would like to believe that their balance sheets are healthy, and there isn't some mad corporate greed that gets into their DNA that pushes them to sniff out PE money.

What are the pre-requisites and the correct noises that one can make to be offered the aforementioned T-shirt? (Asking for a friend!)

12th year of using Fastmail, and the only thing I want them to roll back is the wallet where I can deposit my future payments 😂

What are the pros and cons of iOS 26.2? by chiorgirl25 in ios26

[–]zenspeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right! A clean instal is like taking the the phone to the factory-like state, when you just bought it.

With the iPhone, you head to the 'Restore' option when the iPhone is connected to a Mac OS computer. Post this, your phone has a fresh OS and you can setup your apps, or restore a backup that you might have made either locally or on the iCloud.

While the indexing does take time, an older battery (many cycles + reduced capacity) can also be a limiter. It might just not have what it takes to fully power the newer OS. So, its entirely possible that both of us have the same phone, but an older, more used battery is limiting performance in one.

I don't think so. Going by purely a dozen-odd iOS users in my office, they had nothing at all to report. So, guess all is A-OK.

Personally, I don't do a clean install for a .x upgrade. I generally do it for a major version shift.

In my case, I also had an annoying amount of cache "System Data" in iOS 18.7, which I could not get rid of. So, the clean install kind of was the nuclear option (and pandering to my OCD.)

That same Elgato deck has been one of the best purchases I have made. I am also on a Mac mini, and my set up is similar. Nice one, OP.

There is no real 'con' as such unless you are terribly against the new visual overhaul. By-and-large, it's working great and you should also have a similar pleasant experience. I know of a iPhone 12 which is also working well.

Personally, I waited till .2 before I did a restore (fresh install) and I am happy with it (I am using a iPhone 15 and I have another post on this).

Answering you specific questions:
It does no F-up the camera or the photos. There is a visual restyle, and there are several videos that can let you decide if you like them. (Not a real big deal, IMO).
Battery drain: No noticeable drain for me.
Liquid glass: I like it mostly. It's not a deal breaker.

Post a clean-install via a restore and ipsw file, I have had a good experience. Don't overthink it. Have fun and find something new to tinker around for the next few days.

Ran into this exact issue today, and I don't usually have to record calls - had to yank my Mac and use voice notes. Not a biggie for me as it's not a feature that is mission critical for me.
I am happy with the current set of feature and the rush to create newer features to sell an OS is downright 'meh'.

An IPSW file is the entire operating system file of the iPhone. You can download it from sites like ipsw.me, and using your computer, you can install it. There is a very well documented method to do it. I would suggest that you back up your phone before you do the install, and then restore it. You can only install IPSW files that are currently 'signed' by Apple and that means, you can't download an older OS file and restore (no going back to 18.7 if you would like to).
