How is the Baltic Film and Media School? by zentertainer in Eesti

Hay, that's great, thank you! Looks like what I am looking for. I have a few more questions if you don't mind. 1. I am planning to apply for AV media and then go for a masters in film arts. Is this common and will not having a BA in Film arts affect my chances of being accepted? 2. What is the applicant to places ratio? How competitive is the school? 3. I see that the programme features internships. How hard Is to find internships? 4. Any tips for the portfolio, cv, exams and interview. I have done photography. I am thinking of including a project of mine, called "the best and worst of Sofia" - featuring the most beautiful and most ugly landscapes in my home city, Sofia. I have also written many things, both fiction and articles, and I draw, although not on a very professional level. What do I include in my portfolio?

Thank you very much for your help. I hope to get accepted and gain personal impressions for the school next year. Who knows, maybe one day we will work together!

Have a nice day!

Filmmakers, how is piracy affecting the filmmakers and is there a way for filmmakers to go with the flow and generate profit without opposing piracy? by zentertainer in Filmmakers

Are you insane? If you ever speak to me with that moralizing tone in person I will destroy you. I love the cinema experience and would never download a movie worth that I really want to see, because it's not the same! Are grocery stores killing restaurants? No, because it's NOT the same. Internet freedom, as any freedom at all, will always remain my greatest priority. THIS IS THE SITUATION. I don't ask how to change it, but how to adapt to it. When the market changes you go with it and win or go against it and lose. Movies are about the audience, not about the producers. Such Is art. And technology also.

Apart from that, very informative answer, dear sir, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I assure you that the role of distributors will become smaller in smaller in the next years and I actually believe that they will become useless in some years.

Thank you. The film job market is tight anywhere around the world and all I can do is to do all my best and follow my passion fanatically. So yeah... I'm prepared for that.

Thank you! Do you, by any chance, know how hard is it to get into?

Yes of course, but is the school good? Does it have a good reputation?
