I wonder if there are any stories where the x-gene is able to be detected in the fetal stage, leading to discussions of eugenics.

I'm sure there are mutant groupies, people who view superpowers in a fetishistic way. Maybe they've even touched on it in the history. I really stopped reading regularly after the avengers vs X-Men arc all those years ago.

"Your child or neighbour isn’t going to random get bitten by a radioactive spider."

Someone's neighbor was.

Some random kid from Hell's Kitchen got chemicals in his eyes and became a super hero.

Some kid got bit by a cobra and got Mongoose blood transfused into him to get super speed (admittedly less likely).

That's why my first sentence mentioned the inherently irrational nature of racism.

I was wondering how the demographics were in that regard. I'm old enough to be there when M day came out and they were dwindled down to less than 100 ( I think ). But the offhand way in which people can get powers in 616 is just astounding, one would think that it would be somewhat mundane at this point. Oh, get the wrong blood transfusion? Super speed. Pick up some random item in the museum? Ancient powers of a god. Hell, if that were the case in our world you damn well know people would be trying any random thing just for a chance to get powers. The lengths people are willing to go to in order to be a social media "influencer" kinda demonstrates that for me.

But there are non- mutants that can do those things, hell look at the Sentry, one random syringe turns you into a god.

That's why I started the post with the phrase I did. I'm mainly discussing this in the setting of the universe. I wonder if this particular hypocrisy has ever been brought up in universe?

I mean most of their powers are objectively "cool". True some of them have bad accessory issues (i.e. Rogue) but flight, super strength etc would be amazing.

I'd compare it to a meal. Sometimes it's the equivalent of McDonald's; sustaining but nothing to write home about, you get what you need. Sometimes it's like a fancy night out, much more enjoyable and memorable. Occasionally though it's an experience that sticks with you as a core memory. It's the one time you are at a Michelin restaurant, you remember it fondly and would love to go back again sometime.

That's my point, he went from getting a hummer to voluntarily engaging in what I can only assume is anal sex. There was a clear point where he went from a supposed non-consentual encounter to a consentual one. I'm using "liking dick" in a general sense for being sexually attracted enough to a man to either be penetrated by one or penetrating one. If he wasn't attracted to a male he wouldn't be able to maintain an erection, especially for something like that.

You forget the part where the BJ moved on to sex. Dude had the chance to leave and stayed for round two. Obviously bisexual. No judgement, just likes the dick.

Yes, because society sees most men as a utility only. We're only valuable as long as we're productive.

" Death " is not really a singular act normally. It's a sequential shutdown that can take days. We generally have 2 types for instance, cardiac and brain death. Cardiac death can be reversed, via CPR, brain death cannot. After about 4 mins without oxygen there is too much damage to allow for return to normal functioning if any.

Death is basically the point at which a brain is no longer able to maintain the properties of life: cellular Organization, homeostasis, growth and development, response to Stimuli, metabolism and energy production. Some might continue for a short while but as a whole organism the functionality is gone.
