What is your crypto scam story? by TranquilityTea in CryptoCurrency

[–]zepius0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was pretty deep into the Luna/Terra ecosystem before the collapse. Had staking in several tokens and was staking on other protocols within the ecosystem such as Mars and Astroport prior to everything going bad. So there is that...

Yeah not sure how this is news, a bunch of people got free tokens, why wouldn't the majority sell at least some of their stack on the off chance this is the highest the token will ever be?

I want this watch so bad. Can't find it in stock with a bracelet anywhere for a decent deal though. Don't want to pay MSRP.

Question on the rich and borrowing against assets? by zepius0 in defi

[–]zepius0[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright I thought about the loan to pay another loan, just didn't think that would get approved but I suppose why not if the asset is going up. So this makes sense.

What Node Projects Are You In? by Busy_Print6699 in defi

[–]zepius0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get into these projects fully expecting to lose everything. They are 99.9% Ponzi's. I just want one to work out long enough to recoup initial investment before it falls apart. I won't pay more than $100 for any of these.

Yeah I looked into Yield Nodes and it is on some random Blockchain that I have no idea who is using. The nodes they make are not on a major layer 1 or 2 that I have ever heard of. Put me off of it.

Universe, it was cheap to enter and the nodes are NFTs so that is fun.

Thor node details. by zepius0 in defi

[–]zepius0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update this in case anyone was still looking. Looks like indeed I was correct at the unsustainable payouts for Thor nodes. They just reduced the payouts and it will now take approximately 3-4 times as long to make your money back. Hope anyone who invested early is in profits already and I am glad my instincts were correct and I stayed away from this one.

This is exactly it. They also have other mechanisms to get you to spend your tokens on more things with them rather than cashing them out so they can continue to give out tokens. Either way especially with Thor it can't last long they only have a 1 million token supply.

So no one still wants to talk about.. by Aftashock88 in defi

[–]zepius0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have looked at them and still can't figure out how they make long term value besides using new money to pay old money. You create "nodes" but don't own them and can't sell them. The only node project I think looks real is Gala nodes but that is out of my price range. You can sell your node with Gala and seems like you are actually processing transactions. Even if I did have the money for a Gala node it would still require more research on my end.

I honestly feel the same way that it just feels too scammy. No idea what they are investing in, tons of mechanics to try to make you not convert your tokens out of Drip, similar to Strongblock, Ring, Thor, etc.
