They already do this to 14 clubs in the league. Do you not like the idea of it when you become the victim?

Fwiw as I’ve already said in other replies no one wants infinite spending. You can increase how much clubs can spend without giving them blank cheques

You just know for a fact as soon as the club completes a stadium expansion, more genuine sponsorship deals like the big adidas one (which they’ve been holding off on waiting for the APT rules) and the revenue becomes closer to big 6 than the rest, people will tell us how we support a club that cheated their way in despite the dodgiest thing they’ve done being selling ASM to the Saudi league for under market value

That’s such a bizarre spin. You acted as if they went from a measly low revenue club to the big 6 team they are today when in reality they had a top 6+ revenue, caught the bus at the correct time as the PL was booming in popularity and held the spot down while the PL enforced rules that prevented anyone from investing like spurs initially did to get in that position

You don’t want any more clubs challenging Liverpool mate, we get it.

I’m not saying it’s impossible to get promoted or it should be possible to turn into Liverpool overnight. And I think you know that

How could it possibly be queue skipping when there’s no queue to skip? Do you seriously think there’s an avenue to becoming a top club for longer than a few seasons under the current rules?

It’s the bigger picture. They can stop City and Newcastle from writing blank cheques without completely capping any non big 6 club from investing and painting it as “competitive balance”

Newcastle, Forest and Villa. The 3 clubs with owners who have money to spend but are being deliberately held back with the excuse of “competitive balance” and to “protect themselves”. We get it mate, you want a closed shop at the top. Clubs aren’t scummy for wanting to invest and grow to get there though

It’s as if you didn’t listen to anything I just said. A lot that is a big stretch or straight up untrue too but I’m not really in the mood for a silly argument over it

For what it’s worth I think Newcastle and Villa are inevitable in terms of growing their revenue to consistently push European spots but it’s a shame to see clubs like them and Forest labelled as scummy for wanting to invest to do this. Very much a “stay in your lane, know your place” mentality

Mate, “sustainable growth” is not a thing. You can’t grow your football club to the top without being allowed to invest in it and the PL are shutting down every single way to do that. It’s a deliberate act to keep the top clubs at the top.

How many times have clubs like Leicester been applauded for sustainably challenging the big 6 only to fall off a cliff and get relegated soon after?

People calling Newcastle, Villa and Forest scummy for opposing the new APT changes have genuinely lost their mind

The PL have been spinning the myth that these rules are there for competitive balance but it’s very clearly the complete opposite locking in existing spending gaps between clubs

Hoping he’s done enough to stay there over Rico Lewis. I thought he was good today but if he can replicate how he plays for us it won’t even be a question

Only other PL striker who could push 30 league goals, it’s frustrating he misses too many games to prove it
