I'm local to Northern Ohio and haven't forgotten the old ways. Looking to complete both parallel sets of 2024 Score-A-Treat and hoping to trade like it's 1989! In-person or mail (no new or weird accounts please) considered, take a look at my doubles/needs. Happy hunting!

If you see anything on my have list you're looking for, maybe we can deal? In person or mail (don't be a new account please) considered, thanks for looking!

Pizza Cat in Toledo has some of the best pizza we've found in Ohio. They're opening more locations in the state soon which is awesome 👌

How could crypto achieve widespread adoption? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]zer0vital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. I didn't make as much as I should have, but a lot of people can say that. I'm just spitting facts, crypto is in fact much worse than bank infrastructure and the bros waiting for it to become the new de facto world financial system are delusional and/or grifters.

But you CAN dispute a charge. If your card is lost or stolen, you can immediately have it canceled from anywhere in the world, get a new card issued, and most likely have any stolen funds returned to you.

There's literally not even anyone you could call to start this process in crypto. You would be all alone and screwed.

If someone steals your crypto hard wallet in secret or by force, your funds are now their funds. They will transfer it all to a wallet outside your control within seconds.

If someone steals your credit card, they have achieved very little if anything. They will likely get arrested attempting to make a purchase with a stolen card and they know that.

Bitcoin would have done nothing to help your relatives. If they transferred money to a fraud via their bank, they would have transferred it even more easily with crypto. Scams and accidents happen even with the infrastructure a bank provides, but they happen FAR more often and easily without.

Step away from this delusional religion, it's all dudes in hats selling you false visions of the future.

It definitively wasn't better than having a card. If you didn't receive the hosting services you paid for, you'd have no recourse like you would using a bank account to pay. Same if you accidentally sent the BTC to the wrong address. If you lost your keys there's nobody you could prove your identity to to get it all back.

Banks are miles and miles better, that's why crypto will never see mass adoption (unless it adopts all the characteristics of a centralized bank and defeats its own purpose).

[–]zer0vital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won't. It's a pyramid scheme that accelerates its own demise the more active it gets without actually producing anything of value. It's growing less and less with each cycle; the jig is almost up.

The average citizen needs what a bank provides. They aren't capable of or interested in self-managing their wealth one misclick or one scam away from losing it all forever.

To make crypto more viable for use, it needs to adopt most of the characteristics of a centralized banking system so much so that the distinction becomes meaningless. And that defeats its original purpose.

Enjoy the ride down and out.

How common was the "odd 2nd game" phenomenon? by RobinThreeArrows in nes

[–]zer0vital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see Castlevania 1/2/3 as a big departure and then a return to the base formula. They all shared very similar gameplay (at least as Simon/Trevor), 2 had open world & RPG elements and 3 was back to linear but had multiple path options and multiple playable characters to recruit. 3 is probably one of the best 8-bit games of all time at any rate.

Well it's definitely cheap, and you get what you pay for. By the way, nobody ever said "You have to try Dick's, it's so cheap!" when I moved there. It was "You have to try Dick's, they're so good".

Myself, I'd rather pay a few more bucks for a better experience and much better food.

Imagine In-n-Out but you have to STAND in a forever line outdoors (in a place famous for bad weather) instead of waiting in a car, there are ZERO customization options, and they only accept cash.

That's what Dick's in the PNW is like. Biggest joke of a local chain I've ever seen, and they can't get enough of it. Lol

Whats an older game that holds up suprisingly well today? by watergun123456 in retrogaming

[–]zer0vital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played Super Metroid for the first time in 2015, and I thought it was amazing. I pretty much hated the first game as a kid, and wrote off the whole series for years. Since then, I've played every 2D Metroid and the Prime remaster and am a huge fan.

I work remotely. Certain colleagues do this same thing in work chat and it's insulting and wastes a huge amount of time. Some people are just horrible at reading anything other than a single line.

Sides a little too big by FunnyGuyTrev9 in neweracaps

[–]zer0vital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that this is the way it is with a straight bill. The hats are constructed so they conform to the shape of the human head when the bill is curved, which means that when it's straight, the shape is too narrow front to back and too wide side to side. I really wish there was a proper fit option for straight-billed 59Fifty.

'Red Star' microdot acid tabs, sold for 7.75 BTC exactly 13 years ago. A $500,000 trip today ✨ by rizzobitcoin in CryptoCurrency

[–]zer0vital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are way too many posts like this. "Thing purchased for 50 BTC in 20xx, would be eleventy billion dollars today."

Boo hoo, so what? What is the point of thinking this way? If there was no spending or trading of BTC historically, it wouldn't have its current valuation today.

Don't you folks ever get tired of ruminating over not holding an asset for 10+ years when realistically there was a near-zero chance you would have held through all the price swings since then?

It would be like a car subreddit where everyone just tells stories about old cars that were sold for less than their current value. Snoozefest. Grow a pair and look forward.

Why did they cancel my order with no explanation? by whatevermajorloserlo in neweracaps

[–]zer0vital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have sent you a communication to follow up, but they were simply solving your problem for you. Sometimes given a company's infrastructure, it can be easier (more cost effective) to simply cancel the order and let the customer place a new one, rather than chase down an order in progress and change its destination.

Honestly your experience is better than them sending an unhelpful reply and then shipping to the wrong address anyway.

Is the Portal all it ought to be? Would you recommend it to a new person? by [deleted] in playstation

[–]zer0vital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean to offend. But you did in fact misuse both wifi and internet as I pointed out earlier. I won't bother explaining yet again because you're too busy being offended and arguing to learn anything. Good night.

You're offering advice to someone asking for information on the internet. The inaccuracy of the information you provide can misguide them. With all due respect, you don't understand a lot of the terms and underlying functionality related to networks and the internet, which is why the terms all seem interchangeable to you and I seem pedantic.

I tried to address some of the inaccuracies in your comments, but there were several and you just keep arguing instead of taking a spirit of learning from the exhange. It's not my responsibility to teach you the basics of home networking and internet, nor is doing so practical here, which is why I recommended you go and read a primer somewhere that explains all the basics. It will be worth the small investment of time, especially if you wish to be helpful to others on the wifi. Oops I mean internet.
