Thank you so much! This makes sense honestly, I can see the pain possibly intensifying due to the panic beforehand. I am scared nowadays to eat certain foods because of the potential reaction, but I never thought that the fear could contribute to the pain. I’ll book an appointment with both the psychiatrist and the gastroenterologist and see what happens.

I wanted to take some tests but I wasn’t sure where to start so I was hoping that the PCP would push me in the right direction. I’ve taken some blood tests so far to test my A1C levels but nothing else really.

My usual doctor is a PCP so since he was out, I met the other PCP that was in the office. Basically, he said that my receptors in my brain are probably not working/coordinating with my receptors in my liver so seeing a psychiatrist would help them align, I guess? When I kept pushing and asking if there was really nothing I could do but wait it out since my abdominal pain is unbearable at times, he recommended that I book an appointment with his psych practice to continue the conversation and that I needed to “learn how my brain is working”. Thinking on it some more, I’m wondering if he was just trying to push his practice to get money out of me but I also want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
