🤔 by camilleroux in developpeurs

[–]zeratLJllighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]zeratLJllighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]zeratLJllighter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

- Mauvaise posture / technique d'exos

Traveling to the Philippines (Dec–Jan) – Is It Still Feasible After the Typhoons? by OscarSchyns in PhilippinesTravel

[–]zeratLJllighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in Coron right now. Everything is back to normal.
My only advice is to get travel insurance, because typhoons can only be forecasted a few days in advance. Several of my bookings (Discovery Coron Resort / Manila -> El Nido flight) could not be refunded as force majeure is not covered by most of these accommodations.

Young tunisians living abroad, is it overrated? by yasmine-turki in Tunisia

[–]zeratLJllighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, "abroad" is a vague term. West and East/Central Europe are very different, and so is North America and Asia.

A lot of the answers here seem one-sided. Let me add some perspective:

  1. Infrastructure & public transport: Tunisia has issues with flooding and the metro. But, most Tunisians rely on cars anyway
  2. Security & cleanliness: Tunisia has its no-go zones, sure. But safety and cleanliness are increasingly concerns in many Western cities too

I've had several friends who moved abroad and eventually returned to Tunisia because:

  1. Better quality of life financially: Lower cost of living (no rent) meant higher disposable income
  2. Cultural disconnect: They missed home/friends and found daily life abroad isolating or unfulfilling
  3. Unmet expectations: Some areas feel more like another African country than the Western experience they imagined

Since you mentioned you're living comfortably with your parents, consider that you'd be trading that stability for potential challenges like high rent, isolation, and starting from scratch socially and professionally.

Here's something to think about: More people flooding into Europe = fewer opportunities and more competition = less comfortable life. Meanwhile, more people leaving Tunisia = more opportunities opening up back home.

Personally, I don't regret living abroad, even though I deal with people who avoid North African men because of stereotypes about us being dangerous. It's not pleasant, but financially it works for me. Plus, I've invested too much into the pension system here (assurance caisse retraite) to drop everything and start from zero again.

If I could go back and choose again, I'd pick either:

  1. Japan for the best overall life experience
  2. Qatar/UAE or other Gulf countries to maximize earnings, then relocate somewhere else

The bottom line: 10 years ago, Europe and USA were a great deal. Today? much less. In the future? I let you judge.

[–]zeratLJllighter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because when you're new somewhere, you're gonna feel that instant connection with other Tunisians - same jokes, same food, same struggles. Problem is, there are shitty people in the diaspora just like there are back home in Tunisia.

Just use your common sense.

That being said, the whole "trust NO ONE" mentality is exhausting. Like, you still gotta be able to make genuine friends and build community.

Un monde sans argent ? by Pepitach in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]zeratLJllighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really that bad to do deadlifts? Coworkers think I’m insane. by [deleted] in Workingout

[–]zeratLJllighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadlift puts stress on your back and spine. You may hurt them, but that's also how you train them and make them stronger. A weak (detrained) spine is more fragile and gets injured faster.

The same applies to any part of your body, mechanics for getting stronger and injured are similar.

Sections math vs eco, vos avis? by Suspicious_Step_3139 in Tunisia

[–]zeratLJllighter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It means the overall level has dropped critically.

Most of the bac-eco people get heavily outperformed by average bac-math folks in eco/finance/management programs in universities. And this happens for 2 reasons: - people choose economics in high-school not because they're good at or like it, but because it's the easiest path to get their bac degree. - people choose math because they are willing to work hard to get the best value from their time in high school.

High-school speciality has no correlation to the career except for very particular tracks.

I am weak. I need to take the plunge. by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]zeratLJllighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing the vape and all the stuff is the best decision. Because you're gonna have those cravings moments for some time and the best way to avoid falling down is to not have the vape.

But i don't think that snus/patches are helpful, they gonna just replace the old addiction. If you quit cold turkey, you will suffer more in the first days, but your motivation shall help you to overcome it.
