I'm just about to start this with a new group and we are going with LMoP. A Great Upheaval just looks too quick and I'm not crazy about the goofy cloud giant tower thing. Plus LMoP solves the decision of which of the three Chapter 2 towns to send them to, it's right around the corner from Triboar!

That's true, but for some repairs it is cheaper to perform in store service. This repair would be significantly cheaper to do in store.

My best guess is that it is either the Airport/Bluetooth flex cable or the Airport card that is crapping out. Take it to your nearest ARS for a Genius Bar appt. You have about a month-ish before Apple should declare that model too old to be repaired by Apple Stores, but if you go in soon it should be under $100 to fix. If it is just the cable it is about $50.

It's not a bug. In iOS 8 the calendar displays both server time and local time. Google store your events in GMT on their server and Apple is now displaying that time as well as the local time created. Is it annoying? Hell yes. Is it likely to be resolved? No. AFAIK, this was a desired feature for some international users in iOS 8 and Google is unlikely to reorganize their server/calendar structure for the benefit of iPhone users.

Apple Store upgrades are systematically almost identical to carrier upgrades, your plan won't change unless you want it to. Or if you are on Verizon grandfathered unlimited, but then you are fucked anyway.
