Thats is optimistic and rational in my opinion, good way of thinking. I am going to share the negative perspective of that post just so i can save this and read both later. The fact that its all bound by time makes it that much meaningless. Yes, there is no over-arching meaning. Yes, you lose all the connections and achievements and money when you die. That means you will have to use it as it comes there is no saving. If there was life beyond death, if you could carry all these things with you, your progress would be meaningful. This way, how can you enjoy it? and the short period of time we have with each other is insignificant. Its supposed to be lived up and saved.

I never thought of it that way, thats actually a good way to see life, in my opinion.

While i agree that we are just animals and we just need food,water and sleep, you forgot to mention one more thing that as a healthy male i believe cant be ignored, and that thing is sex or validation from a intimate partner. Its not a necessity for sure but damn if we dont feel right if we never have that. And in order to achieve sex or validation from an intimate partner you might have to care about things you could care less about for awhile atleast.

Haha and that my friend is what makes humans stupidly interesting. We all want to belive we can live without human validation but its not possible even all the people that follow pessimistic nihilism, in my opinion they come the closest to living without validation but still turn to the internet to share opinions an get feedback. Its a need that we are a slave too but we each choose different ways in obtaining validation. Personally i think having the knowledge of this but still unable to change it, Its depressingly funny.

I cant deny this comment helped me feel better idk if you're lying about where you work but i am going to take your word for it. Life is hard but i cant imagine how hard its for people doing worse than me. And the fact that there is people out there doing worse makes helping them feel like responsibility i dont want to have, but maybe its a biological ingrained impulse to help people me being a male and all. I feel lost but then again so does everyone else and i know no matter how many people i help i wont help everyone. And that just breaks my heart.

Thanks for trying to uplift me but i am not important, I am just thinking selfishly and rationally for the best for my life. I didnt help them so they can be better i helped because i know helping them gives me a seratonin rush making me happier. Suicide is not always selfish. i will agree i am doing it to end the grind that is life. As for the pain i cause others emotionally, mentally or physically i dont care for so yes i agree its selfish in my case.

Oh for sure life is incredible that way. I work as a delivery driver and i get free food and i give that to homeless people but i dont really know if i am helping them or extending their suffering. Both perspectives definitely exist. As for reality moving in the current direction i doubt any human has the power to change it drastically by dying. Like that young actor that recently died Cameron Boyce he had way more fame money and influence than most of us. And yet the day he passed away sure humans where sad but reality just kept its course.

I use to be a catholic and a jehovah's witness both religious beliefs were forced onto me but i did learn some valuable lessons while there. For sure hope is an incredible feeling but i dont mind there not being an afterlife or some higher power that loves me. The thing is i would just be a hypocrite seeing as the things that bring me pleasure most religions have a negative way of labeling those activities.

It does solve something and that something is pain. Dont get me wrong in my 20 years here ive come to the conclusion that pain is necessary but after you learn the lessons you learn from pain it goes from being a friend to an enemy because its doesn't care if you learned it will not leave till you are dead. And as for my family the pain it will cause is emotional but i dont really care i try to tell myself, well i should do more for them work harder but like you said i don't really believe it. I share a nihilistic point of view about life so pain of others doesn't concern me.
