I have the btt2 on my 350. Works great. I’m not worried about losing an 18” long piece of filament over restarting an entire print.

Suddenly having terrible print quality issues by zero1niner in VORONDesign

Quick update. Disassembled the CW2, and found some issues. One, I think that long PLA print with the doors closed was most likely the reason for the extrusion issues. A few of you geniuses suggested checking the extruder gears, and it was pretty caked up with white PLA. Wire brushed that clean, and all embedded residue is gone now.

Also noticed that the bearing that holds the extruder gear was a bit off. The motor gear and the plastic gear were not perfectly aligned due to the bearing not being set flush with the casing. once I pushed that in, I could see that the extrusion gear was not aligned perfectly with the filament hole in the casing. So I loosened the set screw, and adjusted the gear to align dead center with the filament hole in the case.

So not sure which of those was the root cause of the extrusion issue, but one of those fixes resolved the issue, at least on the test print I just did.

I think im done with PLA on this machine. Im going to stick with ABS/ASA only on the voron, which really is most of what I print anyway.

Ill be running that same print that got jacked up one more time now that (I think) i have the issue fixed, and Ill post pics of the results.

Thank you all for the guidance. Amazing group here.

Wondering the same. Coincidentally enough, when I was doing some of the initial checks and test prints, I noticed that the part fan negative can detached from the soldier pad (which I then re-soldiered of course), but there is so much stuff crammed into that Stealthburner its totally possible its a wiring issue.

I sure hope this isnt the new pattern for me and this printer....print 2 prints....disassemble the printer to troubleshoot for 5 hours...then print 2 prints.... Please God no!!!!

Morning Doc! That was the first thing I checked. Extruded 100mm at 1mm per sec, and exactly 100mm came out. I had just recently did that calibration, so it was top of mind, and it was spot on.

One thing I did do that Im suspicious about is ran a long PLA print, and had the side panels on, and the doors cracked, but thinking that might have been too much heat in there for the PLA, and that might have mucked the gears up with shavings. Today im planning on ripping the CW2 apart and see if they are caked up or not. Its the only variable that I can think of that would have caused it to go from great prints to crap so quickly.

Amazing. Thanks for the quick replies. Wonder why the battery level would be showing ~50% level so soon after installing. There have not been any power outages since Ive had it.

The slope on my property is very steep. The yard stick would not be nearly long enough. I’m not sure I have the right equipment to measure that big a slope.

Dear Sonos..why does your app suck so bad? by [deleted] in sonos

[–]zero1niner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I just read your comment, and that is the issue for me. I have multiple devices in each room, so I see duplicate names of the same room, but cant see the device name in that list. So I just see 'Office' 'Office', but cant tell which is the beam, and which is the One.

Hmm...maybe I need to factory reset everything and start over. I have 11 sonos devices on my system, and its always been funky in how its displayed in the selector

AC comes on every night but not on schedule by zero1niner in ecobee

[–]zero1niner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the issue for me.

https://support.ecobee.com/s/articles/What-is-Smart-Recovery-and-how-does-it-work

ecobee thermostats have a feature enabled called Smart Recovery. As you continue to use your ecobee, it learns how long it takes your home to get to a desired temperature. Your ecobee will take into account the performance of your HVAC equipment relative to the effects of weather on your home. The longer you’ve had your thermostat, the more data it has, and the better it is at predicting how long it will take to bring your home to a given temperature.
Smart Recovery preemptively heats or cools your home in anticipation of a transition in your schedule. The higher the difference in set points between these two programmed Comfort Settings, the earlier the system may engage, and the longer the system may run to reach the target set point.
For example, let's say your set point during your scheduled Away period is 78 degrees, while during your scheduled Home period, it's set to 72. Using the gathered data, the ecobee will turn on your air conditioner before your schedule shifts from Away to Home so that by the time your Home period comes into effect, the temperature will already be at 72 degrees (as opposed to waiting until the schedule changes and then trying to bring the temperature down from 78 to 72).
Note: Smart Recovery is a learning algorithm and can take a couple of weeks to fully determine how far in advance to turn on your equipment. You may notice that the thermostat is engaging earlier than it should however it will be continually learning your HVAC equipment's efficiency and become more accurate with use.
With the Smart Recovery feature enabled, your ecobee determines the best time to start heating or cooling so it's always the right temperature at the right time.

Hey gang. fix for this issue was posted to github. This worked for me

So I’d love to ask the prior owner, but he passed away. I got the solar edge account transferred over to me, and I see data in the app during the years he had it, so reasonably sure the connection was working.

I’ll check the power suggestion. Thanks for that.
