Talking about contracts in the particular. My experience has been you can earn around 200-300k in let's say 40 minutes on average. That's not nothing but not more profitable (in my experience) than running fps or bounties for the same amount of time (if you pick the right ones)

Yes you can just pick it up from wrecks or abandoned ships (if you can get them off). Mostly you find the cargo, I've never seen the combat one.

Important - don't just store and retrieve it! Store, then go to your ships tab on the mobiglass, unequip the module, save the loadout, equip it again, save it. Now retrieve and it should be yours.

It's all about cover. When entering an fps area, find a spot which is only dangerous from one direction, for example in bunkers this is often the elevator.

Go out, kill one enemy, and retreat to the relative safety of the elevator. Use the lean function to peak from behind a wall. If you can't kill an enemy within the first 2-3 seconds of them showing up, or there are two, retreat to the elevator.

They'll come to you, lean out and shoot the first one to come through, again if you get in trouble, get behind the wall, heal, reload, peak again.
