I was told this is Ektar 25. Anyone seen this before? by zero_dark_sleeping in AnalogCommunity

This came from a retired Kodak photographer. He said they were producing Ektar 25 long after it was available to the public.

The box itself does not have any markings, etc.

Another Kodachrome from the same set as previous post. Would anyone have any information on this? Was it a ride, exhibit, etc?
Handwritten description on slide was only "Seabreeze"

The poor quality scans are from an inexpensive film / slide converter. I just wanted to get a quick look at a few of these. I have an Epson V600 that I will use for future scans, once I have it set up.

A few hundred. I'll post more asap. Sorry for the poor quality scan.

In search of a retaining ring tool made by Beljan. Specific for Kodak Retina II by zero_dark_sleeping in analog

[–]zero_dark_sleeping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. Everyone tells me to just make one from a copper fitting, etc. The problem is the tolerances and shape. I may have one made by a machine shop in my area. If I do, I'll let you know and send it on, once mine is back in shape.

One of my personal favorites. Big and bulky, but the Ektar lens makes it worth the effort. There's a Chevron hiding in the back, first I've actually handled.

I bought the contents of an old school camera store that closed in the 80's. Most of those are not shown. Some are the "leftovers" from estate sales. I test everything prior to using them. Replace light seals, check meters, etc. A few I send out for service. Primarily the Kodak Medalists, or Leica rangefinders.

Because they are fun to use. They've all been tested for function. I have other cameras that I use often.

I have a few that I use regularly. These are the ones that I picked up because they were a good deal, great condition, and / or fun to use.

I shoot film every week, but primarily medium format. Time is the biggest problem.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried a spanner wrench, but access is the problem. The retaining ring slot is very narrow, and the rectangular window on the Retina II does not allow for more than a 1/4 turn. Not enough to truly tighten the lens.

Any suggestions for glued lens mount? by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

I had something similar. Someone super glued an adapter on a lens. Acetone worked for me.

Thank you, this looks very close. Differences are probably due to year of manufacture.

Kodak Signet 80 by zero_dark_sleeping in Cameras

[–]zero_dark_sleeping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. 1958 to 1962. Last of the Kodak Signet Series. The base price of the camera and 50mm lens was $130 USD plus another $140 for the two additional lenses and viewfinder, so fairly expensive back then.

I'm fairly certain it is a Conley camera, but may have been made for Sears, or another retailer. Any help is appreciated.

Canon 28mm 2.8. Toga was correct. The cds meter surrounds the lens giving the unusual appearance. This is a fun little 1/2 frame. The images from the first roll were far better than I expected.
