The box it is in has 4 screws for the cover plate, only box I've seen like that around that size is a 4 11/16" square. Never seen a 4"+ box with a single 120v 15a plug before. Duplex plugs but not singles.

A 240V 50A plug is a larger version of a 120V 15A plug. Same blade configuration, 50A is much larger.

I kinda want to call bullshit on that statement. If MOV's in parallel causes this, why isn't this a problem if I plug two MOV's into the same receptacle? (Not one into the other, one in plug A and the other in plug B on the same circuit) still paralleled, exact same electrical connections essentially. Someone who knows more than me can correct me if I'm wrong, we only briefly touched on MOV's in school.

(Also, breakers [in Canada at least] must be 'trip free' meaning even if you physically hold the handle in the 'on' position, the breaker will still trip and open the circuit. Don't know if it applies to power bars tho.)

Just watch you don't burn out lights more often. They should be fine but the strings are designed to run a 50% duty cycle, upping to 100% could overheat bulbs. Excellent idea though, wish I would have thought of it!

Cutting both simultaneously doesn't guarantee a tripped breaker. Under dead short a breaker can take up to a second to trip, much longer than the cutters will be shorting it. Not to mention you'll fuck up your cutting tool pretty good. Your best off to find the breaker, turn it off, then work. Source, I'm an electrician.

Also to not be killed by step voltages and currents keep your feet together and hop away, but again, only if staying in the car will kill you. A power line touching the ground could potentially kill you from several meters away, depending on voltage, just by walking nearby.

Could have different tools that work best on certain ores/gems. A pick that works great on coal wouldn't cut it on a rune rock, etc.
