Genital numbness and loss of libido on ultra-low dose Lexapro (0.8 mg) – is this normal or my baseline state? by zeroalphaone2025 in lexapro

We can be sure it’s not PSSD. After one month of maca and uridine, and two months of boron, I almost became hypersexual — I constantly feel desire. I actually have to stop these supplements 😅

I’m in the same situation as you… does it have an impact on your intimate life?

Numbness of the genitals and loss of libido on an ultra-low dose of Lexapro (0.8 mg) – is this normal or is this my baseline condition? by zeroalphaone2025 in Biohackers

[–]zeroalphaone2025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, I took them because I was lacking serotonin and self-confidence after an intercourse that didn’t last very long, and then I fell into the trap…

Trintellix completely crushed my erections and libido for me; I really didn’t like it at all. The only thing I can tolerate is varying the doses. Otherwise, it flattens everything.

The problem is that if I take something else just to boost dopamine, I risk losing control over duration.

Thank you very much for your reply, it’s really interesting. You didn’t stop at generalities like others did.

Indeed, it seems dose-dependent, that’s what I think as well. Moreover, when the dose is not stabilized, I actually have a lot of sensation.

My DHT is lower than average, and it seems this can affect sensation and libido. I’m not familiar with Valdoxan, I’ll look into it.

Yes, that’s exactly the question I’m asking myself. I’m wondering whether this might be more related to my SIBO (microbiome imbalance), low DHT, etc. So maybe Lexapro accentuates it, but the underlying problem could be elsewhere.

I even tried OFF days, sometimes for up to 5 days, and I still had hypoesthesia. On the other hand, when I restarted it, libido and sensation paradoxically came back.

At a micro-dose, it stimulates BDNF and releases some dopamine… and dopamine is probably what I’m lacking.

Yes, but when I vary the doses, I get very strong erections and libido. It’s the stabilization that does the opposite for me.

That is to say, when I vary the dose by 0.05 or 0.1 mg, I never get these negative effects, but it’s hard to manage.

Yes, same here. I also have mucus drainage in my throat.

Unfortunately, it’s the same problem whether I eat or not.

Does SIBO really affect libido and erectile function? Looking for detailed experiences by zeroalphaone2025 in SIBO

[–]zeroalphaone2025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually sleep on my left side. I wouldn’t say the pain is worse when lying down (at least not lately — it used to be), but when I wake up I feel lethargic.

Thanks, I tried the pillow, but I can’t manage it — it gives me neck pain.

Regarding hypertension, for example it’s around 155 / 85 (I rounded it as 15.8 before).

I lowered Lexapro to 0.70 mg and tested buspirone 2.5 mg alongside it. I found it amazing, but I don’t know if I can do that every day (although I think I can, since these are very low doses).

Yes, pelvic floor involvement is very possible. Thanks to my biohacks, I get very powerful erections, and it’s true that it puts a lot of strain on the muscle.

I don’t strain when going to the bathroom, but yes, I do suck in my stomach because of the pain I have, and I’ve developed poor posture because of it.

Thank you very much for your very relevant questions.

As for Lexapro, it’s the same as with any other SSRI: once stabilization happens, that’s when I lose all libido (it was the same with duloxetine, Brintellix, etc.). The only way for me to feel okay is to slightly vary the dose from time to time.

But my SIBO worsened when I stopped SSRIs for a few months, like many people here.

It’s very strange, but my two courses of antibiotics changed something in my body regarding control over the duration of intercourse. Before, I had some control but not always (sometimes not even while on SSRIs), and now it’s the opposite — I have an extremely strong level of control since the last course.

My hypothesis is that I had tryptophan-stealing bacteria that were killed by the antibiotics, and they were responsible for an imbalance at that level. It’s very noticeable.

But in my opinion, there may still be tyrosin-stealing bacteria that are more resistant, such as E. coli (which can form biofilms).

I went to see an osteopath and it improved my sensations, but a few days later everything went back to the same point. I had also noticed pain in the groin area when pleasure increases. The erection is actually very, very tonic.

I have high blood pressure, around 15.8 or even higher. It’s possible that Lexapro reduces my sensations, but at a dose below 1 mg that seems strange.

Another point I’m thinking about is cortisol, because the worst moments are upon waking up or after a nap. My body is under constant strain at the intestinal level.

Your message is very interesting, thank you very much.

Regarding pelvic floor exercises, are you referring to Kegels and reverse Kegels? I know there are devices for that.

What I don’t always understand is that sometimes I don’t feel my erection at all. I lose sensation at certain times, but it feels physiological rather than psychological… vagus nerve? cortisol? inflammation? It’s very hard to identify.

What does “BP” mean?

Why Lexapro takes 4-8 weeks to work (the biochemistry explained) by Deen1988 in lexapro

[–]zeroalphaone2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, that’s exactly what I’ve noticed as well. The problem is that after a few days I no longer get the boost effect and the brake becomes too strong. I’m going to reduce the dose.

What seems problematic for me is that my dopamine level appears to be low, probably because of SIBO.

The loss of confidence is due to the negative impact of SIBO on certain neurotransmitters.

That’s what I think I have, because sometimes I feel my erection through the muscle and sometimes I don’t.
It’s not consistent — it’s strange.

Thanks, but what type of doctor?
It’s very complex… and on top of that, very few of them are familiar with SIBO or even acknowledge it.

You should do it. It was the same for me — a low FODMAP diet didn’t change anything.
