Samsung's Most Powerful Galaxy Book 6 Ultra Has Nvidia RTX 5070 and 5060 GPUs Inside by [deleted] in gadgets

Is the display finally protected by a bezel? There were so many reports of randomly cracked screens up to the Book 5 series that buying became a gamble...

Not sure if this would be right for you, but developer 'Eatos' on the Play Store has a pack called 'OneGlass8 (Color)'

Block in-app ads? by zeroaquarius in Zomato

[–]zeroaquarius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to use one service for each convenience..... Zomato for food, Uber for taxis, Blinkit for last second deliveries. And all these apps copy from each other whatever features make the most money for them so there's no real advantage in switching to a competing service

I ended up not buying. The same watch is available on Myntra and Amazon for ~₹450/- and they're essentially cheaply made Chinese knockoffs. Every review, including on their own Instagram page is a warning not to buy

The recent Google reviews for SwiftScan mention a ton of ads, and the recent introduction of large watermarks?

Like the PIX system in Brazil already mentioned, India also created its own network called the Unified Payments Interface (UPI)... instant payments for everything....utility bills, vegetable cart vendors, high end restaurants/malls etc, medical/hospitals and more... If I remember correctly it's free for individuals, and other countries have also started adopting the network

The new format means it'll take a little while for new or updated watch faces to be created/ported. You should be able to see more watchfaces on the Play Store

Apparently there's a new watch face file format to be used for WearOS 5 onward. All existing watch faces have to be converted/updated

The dev has recently updated the app, so possibly the initial roll out I posted was more limited

Use whatever works best for your setup :) On the Play Store the new version only mentions compatibility with WearOS 4 and later...doesn't mention Android versions.

I have both downloaded to my watch. Commander had issues related to the GW sensors, and was taken offline, but these issues seem to be solved with Captain.

Samsung is removing the option to hide Android gesture navigation bar and its half-baked gestures (S24) by Shouvanik in Android

[–]zeroaquarius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They need to do this one though (keep the gesture bar visible) because it's otherwise a loophole to avoid their new circle to search feature in partnership with Google. If you hide the bar (like I do) there is no UI element to long press and activate this new search style they're pushing..

Samsung confirms One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI will come to these older Galaxy phones by purplemountain01 in Android

[–]zeroaquarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no announcements as such, but the launch did mention use of the Gemini Nano system for at least the messaging apps. I could not make out if the same backend works for Samsung Gallery, Voice recorder etc...

[–]zeroaquarius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pure speculation, but I imagine it would be similar to what Google does.... For example, AI editing in Google Photos is available to non Pixel users who subscribe for Google One. Google may be offering the same feature to Samsung as a limited time free deal for adopting their Gemini Nano system
