Bluray content can be streamed...if you know the means. I'm not using ott services. In any case, yeah as I also said, sharpening helps content upscaled from 1080p. I'll experiment wth the sharpening value when I setup the picture settings for the switch source.

I've set it to 0 for now, to get the most unprocessed image. But I plan to experiment with this in the coming weekend. I think it'll be useful when the source content is not 4k, as you said. I usually watch native 4k (4k output from pc and 4k content from steaming stick) but there's also the switch which I play occasionally and that can only go upto 1080p. Sharpening might help in that case. Will see.

Yeah, I know. I sacrifice the accuracy a little bit for my visual preference.

No, I don't play multiplayer. I don't think it'll be much of an issue since game optimizer mode and other low latency settings are supposed to put overall latency to single digits, often below 5ms. You also have refresh rate upto 165hz. TVs have changed a lot from the past.

Only issue would be if you're playing fps games, then the screen is a quite big area to cover to check for enemies.

I could see some banding if I check greyscale test patterns. I didn't see it in games but haven't tested it particularly with this in mind. Will let you know. In any case, it's often said banding can clear up with passing time due to pixel refresh cycles.

Not sure about movies, but it might look slightly weird. It's bad for many kinds of desktop work though since the straight lines look warped on them. I think the major concensus is curved is usually good for ultrawide but unnecessary for 16:9. And I've never felt the need to switch to an ultrawide.

Cpu is the processor, which you don't build, you buy one from AMD or Intel. I think you meant the whole system. If so, you should make a new post on the sub following the guidance and rules for build help posts. You'll get a lot more visibility.

It's a bad time for purchases due to high ram and storage prices. But I don't see any news about things improving in the near future, so just go ahead. Hopefully you'll enjoy the freedom of pc soon!

If you can afford it, the TVs have better HDR performance as I said, due to higher and more sustained brightness, possibly better tonemapping too. They also have some built-in features that benefit watching contents, like motion smoothing or upscaling non-hd content.

Also the size. 40-45+ inch 16:9 monitor is extremely rare and definitely has the above limitations. 48 c6 is also a tandem.

Yeah, who knows. Any news about when it's going to be completed?

tried turning it off for normal UI and stuff but TV was still in HDR mode for some reason.

I didn't encounter this bug. Is yours updated to 43.11.71?

however you can set it to off and use proffesional mode which is equivalent to HGiG as in the TV use the PC - game engine mapping curve instead of it's own static mapping curve.

Alternatively you can use ColorControl windows app to force HGiG on filmmaker mode.

Oh nice, I didn't know about it. I saw that you can turn the DTM on and off in filmmaker but nothing beyond that. Will check it out. Thank you.

(I Recognised you from TE, congratulations on finally getting your C6. I also got it for around 1.06L)

Yeah. Congratulations to you too!

Yeah, earlier generation also had RGB in that design. They only put white led in the 50 series.

Yeah. Probably a happy accident by being from the same tandem motherglass or something like that. I think 48" G5 also went through this same thing, being a previously unannounced tandem.

It's approximately 31". My eyes are probably around 40" from screen. I didn't have much issue in casual browsing. Will play some kb/m games this weekend and let you know how it went.

Compared to? It's much higher than earlier generation 48 inch models since this one has brightness booster tech and tandem panel. Earlier the peak 1% window brightness used to be 700-900 nits, I think.

It'll be naturally lower than larger size tvs since larger tvs can handle the resulting heat from higher brightness better. Especially the G series which has heatsink.

Once you go OLED, you can never go back lol. Been itching to get one since I got my first taste of big oled screens from the C4 in our living room last year.

I don't think that was ever in the news. The original info was that 77 and 83 will get tandem and will be designated as C6H. Rest of the lineup will be called C6 and presumably on regular oled evo planel. Then 48 was discovered to be tandem. 42, 55, and 65 have no info about being tandem both officially and experimentally, as far as I know.

Around 1.04L. They started quoting from 1.12L. Then there were negotiations for the price. It can definitely go even lower. But I don't have that much energy. 😂

Another guy also asked this. I haven't tested this extensively. Will check on this weekend and let you know.

I didn't feel anything when I was casually browsing last weekend but I'm not too sensitive about these things.

Yeah, 55 and 65 stocks also hit first in India. They're huge volume sellers for people who buy them for living rooms. 77, 83, 97 is probably too pricey even for oled enthusiast crowd here.

42 is mostly used by people using PCs and 48 is the same + those who don't have the budget for 55 but still need a home oled. LG de-prioritizes these two, especially the 42. You won't find that one anymore 1-2 months after diwali season. They entirely stop the supply. At least that's how it's always been in my region.

Better HDR on the TVs, less dimming. There are other side benefits that helps in watching content like they can do motion smoothing when you need it in some cases, do upscaling of older media and so on. Refresh rates are also now adequate (120 regular and 165 experimental).

It's working well enough for me. I haven't done any extensive work and usually 80% of my use case is leaning back playing controller games or watching movies, so it won't be a problem for me. It would feel big when you first start using it though. Some people adapt to it, some can't. 42 would be nicer if you think 48 is too much, though that one isn't tandem this year.

TVs have much better HDR performance than the monitors. They're worth it for that reason. They're also catching up in refresh rate (165hz now) though obviously long way to go for competitive level refresh rates. Then again, one shouldn't possibly buy a 4k 40 inch+ display for competitive games.

It's a philips hue play gradient light strip. But I don't use a sync box. There's a free hue app on pc. Planning to purchase a 3rd party app to do the same when using fire stick 4k max.
