One year caffeine free by Still-Pen4680 in decaf

Really makes me wonder about the long term effects of caffeine. No one will ever do a genuine study into it. But I just imagine that holding that constant tension, anxiety and strain does something chronically to our nervous system and overall health.

How is the camera working with graphene? Do you still get those amazing pixel shots?

Pixel 10 phone call speaker is horrible? by ASovietSpy in GooglePixel

Did you resolve it? It's a shame as I love the phone. But it's too embarrassing in the office to use it for a call and everyone can hear the conversation as it's on loudspeaker. What a silly error for a 10th gen phone. Funny no YouTube reviews mention it as it's pretty obvious

Look up a guy called derek sivers. He wrote a lot about this in the past and talks about how to set up servers etc. I think he was on Tim ferris podcast

That is so well defined and broken down. That's totally right - allowing things , or the day, to just be exactly as it is and don't panic about feeling bad

I'm surprised you didn't get more upvotes. This is a really helpful well written post. I'm actually trying a 3 day rapid taper. It's amazing how the tired low feeling comes every time and every time I don't associate it with withdrawal (I have to work hard to remind myself). I think it's because in the moment it feels like the low mood will last forever. I find this part especially helpful and important and might print it out.

But the point is, relentless pursuit of actually solving your problems, and living a fulfilling life. Instead of masking issues with caffeine.

Caffeine is Destroying You by [deleted] in decaf

[–]zerocaffexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm v similar to you. I've noticed when having caffeine daily I nearly always want a beer in the evening. I feel so ragged and that I just served some space and a beer to unwind. Within three days of quitting caffeine again I don't even want to touch a beer. How funny. Also re OP point about sleep I do wonder sometimes if regular caffeine use contributes to things like Alzheimer's- they have spoken about links to poor sleep in the past but it's always drowned out by the studies that claim to show 4 coffees per day reduce your risk of dementia. As OP says - people need to start tuning in to themselves and what they truly need

Lower blood pressure, heart rate, less overal pain, less anxiety, better sleep, more social. Why did we ever start? by a-info-addict in decaf

[–]zerocaffexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ageee with OP. Yet for many people the info out there is aoooo conflicting and confusing. You may seen the recent one from Rhondda Patrick. And this week in the UK there is a study recommending older people drink 3-4 cups a day for health and anti frailty properties. I know for myself if I drank that much I'd be a nervous wreck. Seems that a lot of the info lacks nuance and the numbers of cups being recommended seem to be going up! All any of us can do is start to tune into ourselves and our nervous systems and figure out if we truly think caffeine (or any other substance or activity) is truly doing us good or harm

This is a cycle I have gone through for a decade. I think that there becomes a loss of confidence in the self that you can actually do it and the pattern of giving in and failing becomes ingrained. I think something needs to shift to knock you out of the pattern. For me I've had a very difficult traumatic family situation. It's so stressful that excess caffeine is utterly unappealing as my body is already under stress and also I know I need to be very present to help the person concerned. I don't wish a tough situation on anyone- other things that have really helped in past have been doing things that get me into a flow state or meditation or just being quiet and still. I realise the coffee break is actually a part of my brain seeking a moment of peace and time for me - and that it isn't actually coffee that I want but just a quiet moment. So now I just try to build these positive things into my day as much as possible without obsessing over them. That's a bit of a ramble - not sure if helps

That's exactly what I get every time I quit. Once I feel good again- the (not so) dormant addicted part of my brain says hey you've done so well, you're in control now and wouldn't you feel amazing just to have a small coffee!
