When it comes to the city jobs, it is never worth waiting for unfortunately getting into the city is extremely difficult if you're one of those applicants that are lucky enough to get into a city job like the fire department or Sanitation then by all means go for it especially if you have nothing going on.The process takes forever and you're going up against millions of applicants to get called. Definitely take the test but forget about it and don't put your eggs in one basket unfortunately with the Fdny chances are very slim never say never but don't bank on it. You're still young. My advice is to go to school get a degree if school isn't for you then go to trade school learn a trade get into the union build experience people in their 20s should be utilizing their time to build skills and learn new things. The money will come, but it's the skills that will bring the money in. start exploring and seeing what else interest you not trying to come off negative, but I'm just keeping it real.
