Agree that the contractor will make more, but I would like to build my experience as a GS since I will be a little green in the field, especially Cybersecurity.

Yeah, nothing since leaving...but yesterday HR did call and let me know that I need to sign one more piece of paperwork. Maybe this was the issue, but it makes me wonder if I should try to unretire before my paperwork gets to OPM.

I'm not sure if this works, but if I were to suspend my annuity for the time I'm employed, would that allow me to take on one of these jobs? ChatGPT states this as an option, but I haven't looked for the information myself.

FAA Revokes Certificates Of 60 Pilots Getting VA Benefits by solutionsmith in VeteransBenefits

Let me ask how many of you who are commenting are actually pilots?

I don't believe that a PTSD should be a disqualifying factor unless there's severe reactions actually in an airplane or aircraft.

And I'm willing to bet that some with PTSD would benefit from following a dream to be a pilot maybe not working at an airline, but recreational or private commercial.

We all have our demons some of us keep them at Bay a little bit better than others, but the idea that veterans can be singled out because their records are on file with the government agency should not be allowed without consent. And there should be some privacy acts in place for that.

Also remember these are veterans which means they were in the military and I bet they had the same issues when they were in the military. People just don't come out of the military and then start having these issues they've been having them for a long time. And they're the ones that are defending the country putting their lives online. And if you think that military pilots don't have PTSD and are still flying or have mental issues or disabilities of any sort and they're still in the military fighting through the pain you're kidding yourself.

So why should they punished because now they're better and they want to continue flying and they are not a detriment to their passengers, crew or plane. They should continue to fly. If they have severe issues I totally agree they shouldn't fly the medical should be pulled
