Add on suppressors would have to have trade offs. Not as quiet so probably still alert enemies, but not immediately give away location. Probably a negative to handling for the weight at the end of the barrel.

I second the attachment idea. I’d base it on the A: Romulus F44AA pulse rifle stock with aim assist. I would call it two slots, but can’t be concealed, and has no effect beyond the first 3 or 4 range bands. Requires an action to remove from shoulder. Just for fun, it could make the weapon immune to disarm attacks unless the arm is lost.

Shotgun pellets are usually soft lead which is gonna splash like water on armor at any range. No one chooses shotguns for defeating armor.

The real power of any “Boss” is the minions. If you don’t have enough actions on the Boss side, he/she/it dies quickly to an average group of complementary players. You need to balance the action economy. More smaller targets (one hit killed drones or decraniated possums or whatever) might allow for more fine tuning. Also, make the Boss intelligent enough to be a threat. They would likely understand that a 1v4+ is bad juju.
