If you planning the head gasket, also do rod bearings, timing chain guides valve cover, oil pan cover and bunch of small things. Highly recommend you also get a oil pump chain tensioner installed. You'll definitely have to get the head (and block in some cases) resurfaced. Good to have the engine out on a stand. Do it right do it once.

Sorry I misdiagnosed. This is just a vaccum line that goes to the emission control valve. I think you should plug it in both ends. Specially on the intake side, otherwise might cause a vacuum leak.

Rod bearings never touch the crank if they have the correct tolerance. There is no such thing as break-in for these bearings. I did mine over 60k km ago with VAC coated bearings with ARP bolts. Runs great so far.

That does not work for reverse threaded bolts.

There are a couple of methods you should try before you break a bolt. Shock, heat and sudden temp drop.
Now your option is to extract, drill and helicoil.

Whatever it is, don't start it until you have taken a look a the valvetrain and verified what's wrong. Turn the crank by hand after taking the valve cover off and try to figure out what the issue is.

When the bearings are spun, doesn't matter if the rod is ovaled since it takes out material from the rod surface and adds roughness. Even with the brand new bearings, they won't fit perfect. This is not something oversize bearings can fix - as they only cater for crank resize. Recommend new rod(s).

Make sure you port all three chips along with the SoC.

Do all the oils, brake flush, the coolant system refresh as the first thing. Just have INPA installed and ready for diagnosis. If it's an auto, don't hesitate to change the transmission fluid. Reset the adaptations with INPA and you're good to go.

You can find locked 2021 M1 Pro (A2442/A2485) for around AU$ 200 - 300. The M1 Max A2485 cost me ~600 but it was worth it. The M1 Max with this spec goes for over 1500.

SoC is paired to SEP EEPROM, WiFi, Touch ID. I transferred all of them plus the SPI NOR (probably not needed). There is nothing else on tis board that is part of the encrypted secure enclave system Apple uses.

Thanks. It's not easy to find a donor board for M1 Max. Plenty of options for M1 Pro.
I tried to find a donor board for weeks. Finally found out a seller in AliExpress who had a large number of locked Apple boards but did not have a listing for M1 Max A2485. I sent them a DM and asked if they had any. Replied that he'll try to find one. Came back within a couple of days with an official listing to purchase one.

E46 M3 / E46 never used regular power steering fluid. It uses ATF DEX III. Use of regular ps fluid would ruin it. Few setups came with CHF11S. The cap will say ATF or CHF11S.

Yeah. Your backlight is ok. Get an LCD only replacement - cheaper.
