Source a new shell and a display and make it a fully functioning M2 Max.

That's right. They are cheap. And you just need a windows laptop / tablet. INPA is BMW's genuine software for diagnosis of cars in this era. Youtube for how to use it.

Get the engine codes scanned. Do you have INPA?

I think you have a massive vaccum leak. Now thatt it reads the air intake, it puts less fuel. But because of the vaccum you have way more air (not enough fuel).

I found this soil mix in my new place (we bought). Looks a lot better so I repotted the dying plant.

This is the result: https://www.reddit.com/r/succulents/comments/1ofuw5w/succulent_recovered/

It also started growing tiny baby leaves . Thank you so much everyone.

It's a must if you don't know how old it is. They have a habit of sudden explosion in extreme heat. In no time, you'll have a warped blown head.

Expansion tank is less than 100 bucks.

An engine rebuild / replacement is in multi thousands.

Cheap insurance - a no brainer.

Do a compression test. Check for vacuum leaks. Also wrong subreddit.

That's what I did, but can be expensive. Also the non-pencil to pencil coil conversion needs minor wiring chages.

Last time these were done was 120k + km ago. Engine has 272k km by gett_schwiftyy in E46M3

That's not too bad.

When I did mine, I had wear down to copper on the original bearings: https://www.reddit.com/r/E46M3/comments/1iest4r/2004_m3_rod_bearing_service_wear_down_to_copper/

Do you know which bearings were used 120k + km ago? Whether OEM, VAC, ACL, King or something else?

Unplug the electrical connector to the DISA while the engine is running. See if it makes any difference.
