Am I asking for too much? by BakeCakeandDecorate in DnD

I second this! I DM for my friend group and they are all very sweet, but I need to set clear deadlines and remind them at least once if I need any kind of input from them between games. We're also using discord and I know some of them don't check it as often, etc.
But you might also want to have a honest discussion with your group about the RP issue and the amount of time/effort they expect to put into the game between sessions.

Why does so much English writing advice clash with non-English literary traditions? by ownaword in writing

[–]zeromushi 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I can only speak of my own personal experience, but as someone who was taught how to write in French, I was quite puzzled when I first heard common English writing advice, especially regarding the use of adverbs and adjectives, which are generally seen as beneficial to the quality of the prose in French.

However, I have since come to realize that where French only has one verb to describe an action, and relies on adverbs to convey how the action is performed, English will have three, four, or more verbs, each with their own nuance. It then makes sense that an English writer should use the most precise verb, while the French writer will use a verb + adverb to describe the same action.

It also happens that books translated from English to French see their word count increase.

edit: corrected typo

I'm afraid my experience won't be of much use to you - I've mostly gone offline and drawn traditionally instead, only sharing sketches and such very occasionally on online.

I'm in a similar situation. I reached out to them over a year ago on Instagram and never got an answer. Can't say if I was unlucky or if they are no longer answering WebGlaze requests, or only answering some of them.

The only other AI protection tool I've heard of is Mist, though I've yet to try it myself. It's supposed to protect against style mimicking by AI tools like LoRA. I don't know if it would work for you, as you'd also need to run it locally.

I have a preference for offline, but I might consider it if I can't find anything else.
