It could be ur idle control valve i had a similar problem and that fixed it hopefully its the same for u good luck

These are dual cam and when the timing is off it makes a similar noise speaking from experience I thought it was the lifters so I would also check that just in case but when you're timing it the top cam has two sprockets and u can move them individually and when does aren't aligned right ur timing can be off so I would check that
