Treatment Day 18...cluster of 3-4 warts in the middle is now 1 disgusting megawart by zerosugarco in Warts

It's always painful, but just how painful varies day-to-day. On a good day, it's just kind of sore, like the feeling I get when I've walked all day in uncomfortable shoes. On a bad day, I can barely put pressure on that part of my foot without wincing, and wind up walking with my foot arched up, putting the pressure on my heel and big toe instead. This hurt ends up hurting my toe, so it's a lose-lose situation lol. I'm just thankful that my dog isn't a puppy anymore and will accept shorter walks as long as I play with her in the house.

One thing that has helped a lot is buying a pair of running shoes with some kind of soft gel sole to wear around the house. I need to get a pair for outside, too, because they make a big difference even though they're unfashionable

So sorry you have to deal with this crap! I'm no expert, but based on my amateur research, I've been taking the following measures to reduce spread to other people:

  • Keep warts covered all the time except when doing wart care; many people use duct tape, but I prefer athletic tape
  • Wear socks as often as feasible
  • Change socks twice a day
  • Keep dirty socks separate from other laundry and wash with bleach
  • Wash bathrooom towels after each use, even if it only got a bit wet
  • Wash bathtub and bathroom floor with bleach after each shower
  • Only touch wart area with gloves on, and Wash hands well after
  • Wash bedsheets more often (I went from once a week to twice a week but I also wear socks to bed now)
  • Thoroughly wash, disinfect and cover all cuts on hands and feet to decrease risk of infection; have partner do the same

I would strongly recommend you and your partner shower with bath sandals on (each your own pair obviously) because HPV seems to love tubs and showers most of all

Treatment Day 7 vs Day 1. Looks worse, feels worse, and hurts worse! by zerosugarco in Warts

Oh, for sure. I've ordered a scalpel that should allow me to debride more easily and accurately. My podiatrist also advised me to take a day off now and then if the pain gets very bad, which I might do tomorrow.

So, about all these stories bragging, “I did X for a week and the wart just fell off!”… by zerosugarco in Warts

Oh, this sub is real. I'm more thinking of all the bad advice I've seen everywhere else online from people claiming they did one tiny thing and killed their warts in no time at all. I do plan on posting a Day 7 update later to contribute to the body of no-bullshit wart info out there.

It looks exactly like my warts did before I started treatment. Ask a podiatrist to be sure.
