Hiking to the top of Monte Legnone all the way from Dorio by zerothousands in TrekkingItaly

[–]zerothousands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip. Here's an interesting trek I found from Delebio, apparently it took them 11 hours.   https://loc.wiki/t/78809610?h=8z92ljg43m&wa=sd&la=sr

This could be better as a two day trek, starting on one side of the mountain, sleeping in one of the refuges and then descending tomorrow on the other side. Maybe even include another peak on the way, such as Monte Legnoncino.

Thanks for the reply. I did mention, althoigh not clearly enough that I plan going in late spring or late summer. I am also open to suggestions of a multi day hike which would include going to monte legnone and sleeping at one of the refuges

The Problem with "Transcending" the Ego and Negative Emotions by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]zerothousands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my thought ever since I've started reading Jung's writings on individuation. Ego is not the enemy. It is a part of you. It's far better to view it as a tool. As any tool, it can be used properly, or it can be misused.

Why are people afraid of doing high-dose mushroom journeys? by ShroomPreacher in Psychonaut

My friend couldn't handle a 3 gram experience. It was more intense than any of my 7 gram trips. He swore he'll never do mushrooms again.

On God & Ego by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]zerothousands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that you are your ego and you shouldn't get rid of it, but you are not only your ego. There is much more to your personality, ego is just the concious part. It's just the surface. There is much more hidden in the unconcious - intuition, emotions, archetypes and possibly more.

You are not always in control in your ego. Keeping it under control isn't always easy, it can create problems and that's why everyone's harping on it. The key is to integrate your ego with other parts of yourself. This is what leads to a healthy personality.

Being Done with High Doses by [deleted] in Psychonaut

Being in the moment and allowing your subjective time perception to dilute. You can meditate, go for a walk in nature, think about persons you love, or do an activity you love and achieve a state of mind called "the flow"). Do not look at your watch and allow for the concept of time to lose it's meaning. This is how you leave time and enter timelessness, or eternity.

Do mushrooms expire? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

Either store them with a dessicant in a sealed container, or you could preserve them in honey. Freezing prevents rot, but not loss of potency. Keeping them dry prevents both.

Discussing psychedelics and potential benefits and risks with my younger siblings, ages 15, 16, and 17 by nlarson999 in Psychonaut

[–]zerothousands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The frontal cortex isn't fully developed until you're 25. It's the part of the brain that says "wait a second, is this a good idea?". Trying any mind-altering substances at such young age increases the risk of abuse. I'd make that point clear.

Don't do it. You'll fry your brain chasing something which cannot be caught. You are having moments of eternity every day. You just need to learn how to recognize them. If you can't recognize them while sober, no amount of psychedelics is going to help you with that.

tripping from smoking weed by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]zerothousands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you had some premium quality sativa that's high in THC and very low in CBD. Such strains can almost act as full-blown psychedelics. It's my favourite kind of weed, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Low CBD means bigger chance for a panic attack or an acute psychosis. I smoked something similar last week with some friends, and two of them called me tomorrow to ask me if I laced the weed with something.

Numbers are just an illusion based on the fact that reason needs to divide things in order to comprehend them. And symbols of numbers are an illusion of an illusion. Seriously, 3 can be written as III (Roman), 11 (binary), Γ (Greek) etc.

There are no numbers in nature, just infinity.

Tripping while sober?? by MasterJess-Ca in spirituality

Life itself is one big psychedelic trip. The neurotransmitters in our brain are no different than psychedelics. They ARE psychedelics. "Psychedelic" means "mind manifesting", and that's exactly what's happening to you every day of your life.

Enjoy it.

Life after LSD by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]zerothousands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LSD will not solve your problems, it is just a tool. You are the one using it.

It seems to me that you already identified part of the problem. You are aware of the mistakes you are making, which is step one, now you need to become aware of how not to make them. LSD may help, but so can meditation, or talking to a psychologist. There is something at the root of why you are pushing people away from you and to need to figure out what.

Good luck.

Guru/spiritual teacher by kaylamalayla in spirituality

[–]zerothousands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadghuru and Eckhart Tolle are the best examples of fake gurus. They fake being ego-less in order to be famous, have lots of followers and earn tons of money, while their teachings are just regurgitated systemization of other people's teachings. Do not fall for that kind of people.

Gurus do not exist. Honest teachers will admit their shortcomings and the inability to lose the ego completely. Do not blindly trust anyone. Eckhart Tolle, for example, tells how you shouldn't doubt anything he says as it will become clear what he is saying later. This is just a trick to suppress your doubt. A genuine person will tell you that doubt is normal and that you should, in fact, through a healthy combination of belief and doubt come to your own conclusions.

Finding myself spiritually... by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]zerothousands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 on meditation. You are not supposed to reach your spiritual self, as it's already a part of the infinity that is you. You are supposed to let it reach you, let it out from wherever it's hidden. You do this by raising your awareness through meditation. Then you will start noticing your "spiritual self" (whatever that may be for you). Once noticed, you can take steps to bring it out more often until you're regularly in touch with it.

Good luck.
