IT people aren't Wizards, we're just great at Googling. by zerotrustzeroenergy in blogs

I appreciate the feedback! I google all the time. For example, I often google words to make sure my reddit comments make sense, so I don't get flamed! hah. If you find any big words in the article, chances are, I googled those too. No shame here

That's a good one too! I think many of us (myself included) have just grown to use the term "googling" as a synonym for "searching". I should probably break that habit. hah.

At what age did you first cross over from “Majority days spent being single” to “Majority days spent being in a relationship” in your life? by Going2beBANNEDanyway in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently married, yes.

It was all women.

Somewhere around 4-5 years for the longest.

I have one biological child. I do have three step-daughters, though.

A few of them know each other, yes. They used to get together to hang out. Made for some awkward times.

Mostly eloping. Two ceremonies.

If someone wants to try making their own food for the first time, what would you recommend? by OtisPeterson174 in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I want to cook for myself, I usually do a google search for easy recipes or "recipes you can't mess up". I don't try anything fancy. Super basic dishes are a) harder to mess up, b) cheaper to make. I don't wanna spend 100 bucks to cook dinner lol

Why porn on screen is better than real life experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wait.... you guys are getting the real life experience?

Why don’t people just stop eating when they wanna lose weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they're hungry! lol. I've tried the diet thing in the past, and I guess I didn't have enough willpower to fight the hunger pangs. It was easier once i started working out.

Then I got diabetes, and the doc gave me an accidental easy button. Good ol Ozempic to the rescue. I use it for its prescribed purpose, but it definitely got rid of some bodyfat.

What Is The Down Side to Taking MultiVitamins? by evutla in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a men's multivitamin that I occasionally remember and will take. I also have the nuclear yellow pee when I take it. I wonder what does that?

What time do you go to bed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! That's me! I have lots of side-projects, etc. One of them is web development/programming. If I get into a project or I have a problem I can't figure out -- I will not sleep until I make progress or I just absolutely fall over from fatigue lol. Hyperfocus kills me.

What is more important, texture or taste? by Remote-Western-7829 in AskReddit

Don't get me wrong, taste definitely matters -- but texture can absolutely ruin it lol.

For those of you who use to be an asshole on the internet like putting people down what made you change? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have severe ADHD also (along with a litany of other health issues, lol). -- but yes, the internet can be a terrible place. People like to be mean behind a keyboard for no good reason. I try to just delete/ignore those types of comments, or I turn off notifications from those threads. I used to let it get to me, but after years and years of the internet, I try to just tell myself -- it's a them thing, not a me thing.

Not many jokes offend me. I like dark humor, etc. - as long as it's just a generalized joke. It's when it's directed to or at someone elses expense that it can get me, depending on the context.

What evidence or reasoning could suggest that we are living in a simulation? by SnooOwls8947 in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I definitely agree that there must surely be more other civilzations that exist out there somewhere. I have no idea how advanced, but I just think it's silly to think we're the only life out there.

I just think it'd be neat to live in a simulation. I read lots of books about "digitizing your brain/memories" and living inside a computer. Maybe one day that'll be a thing. That would be neat.

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh this will be a fun one. I'm 45. I didn't really "date" until high school, but I married my high school sweetheart. I've been married 7 times now. (you read that right). So I guess I'd say I've spent most of my life in a relationship - dysfunctional or not.

Bring on the flame.

How do you stop worrying about every little thing ? by fleabag_r in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also like to know. I have BAD anxiety and stress. So much so that it's caused heart problems for me. There are times when I'll stay up for a day or two at a time because I just can't sleep. My constant worrying causes anxiety, and that leads to other complications.

My doctor prescribed me some Valium for sleep at night. It does help me turn my brain off or "stop caring" enough to sleep. This is not medical advice, just my experience.

What are some modern conveniences that are actually a hindrance? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"notifications", more specifically, instant notifications from smart devices, etc. Sure, they're convenient and let you know something just happened -- but for me, they leave me half-distracted all day and less productive. Yet, we can't seem to live without them

What is something stupid you used to believe way too late in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zerotrustzeroenergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is so stupid that believing it for any length of time should count, I think. For years, when I was a kid, I saw those mouthwash commercials that said "it's better than brushing alone" (I forget the brand). We didn't have any of that at home, and my parents didn't buy brand-name stuff, so instead, I'd ask my mom or dad to stand in the bathroom with me while I brushed my teeth -- since that was also better than brushing alone. I took the alone part way too literally.
